joints. When the wall is a fire rated wall (reference Life Safety Sheets),
provide the required fire sealant assembly at the joint per the
specifications and assemblies shown in the Architectural details. When
there are questions about the location of the joint due to masonry
conflicts, coordination with other wall types or choosing appropiate fire
assembly sealants, notify the Architect. See details regarding both
masonry walls and stud framed walls.

WALL TYPE NOTATION
1. Wall tags with additional dimensional text indicate wall height, such as: Fi
Any wall tags without such additional noting are to be assumed to go to underside of
structural deck above or as indicated in associated wall sections.
2. Some walls may have more than one wall type tag, signifying that:
a. either the wall has a core wall type with additional wall materials required or,
b. the wall is a given wall type at the flow (to a certain height), then changes to
another wall type above.
3. Any wall type designation showing a letter " i " indicates that insulation is required.
See either Schedule and/or specification for wall insulation type required.
PROJECT GENERAL NOTES:
1. Nothing set forth in these drawings shall release any contractor from their
responsibility to provide appropriate quantities, field measurements, dimensional
stability, installation, anchorage, and coordination with other trades; or release them
from their responsibility to Menfify and resolve deviations from the requirements of the
contract documents, or free them of their responsibility to alert designer of errors or
ormssion.
2. Contractor shall utilize these drawings in conjunction with the specifications to
determine the full scope, intent and requirements of the project. Specificetiors and
drawings are intended to be complementary, not mutually exclusive. Work shown on
INS drawings but not listed In the spect6catioru, and work described in the
specifications but not shorn on the drawings shell be interpreted as though work
were fully described in both places. The higher quantity, higher quality, more labor
intensive and overall more stringent and more costly requirement shall apply unless
otherwise clarified in writing prior to bd.
3. Each contractor shall in the field all existing applicable conditions and

dimensions shown on the drawings and as pertinent to the intent of these drawings.
Any discrepancy discovered shall be brought to the attention of the designer prior to
the commencement of any work affected by or related to, such discrepancy. Each
contractor shall be responsible for all cost associated with, or caused by their failure
to comply with this requirement.
4. Each contractor shall review all portions of their work, before sterling the work, to

5. Each contractor shall field verify all existing applicable conditions and dimensions
shown on the drawings. As pertains to the intent of these drawings, contractor shall
bring to the attention of the architect and designer any discrepancies discovered prior
to the commencement of any work elected by or related to such discrepancy. Each
contractor shall be responsible for all cost associated with or caused by that
contractor's failure to comply with this requirement.
BID SET 8.100 GENERAL NOTES
1. All gems shown above elevation (t0" architectural) or+848.80' (civil) are NOT IN
C NTRA T (N.I.C.). This includes all gems shown on all S, A, M, P and E series
sheets of this Bid Set.
2. various Items below elevation (±O' architecture]) +848.110(civil) are NOT IN
CONTRACT (N.I.C.) as noted in drawings, i.e. brick veneer, limestone, paver
systems, storefront, and curtain wall to name a few.
3. See specific below grade waterproofing details on sheetAB501 for applications
such as (but not limited to) waterproofing walls, pipe penetrations, elevator pits,
tunnels and other gems indicated in the drawings shown to be waterproofed. The
scope of these details apply to structural and plumbing drawings. See the
specifications forAftemates to certain waterproofing systems.
4. Provide water -stop at all bcatlons Indicated on both architectural and shuctuml
drawings and specifications.
5. Unless otherwise noted, all masonry openings in CMU walls are to be located 8'
from the jamb of the rough opening to the perpendicular wall or concrete column.
8. All interior walls are to the underside of deck unless otherwise noted.
BID SET 8.200 GENERAL NOTES
1. The Scope for the 8.200 Bid Set consists of primary steel as shown in the Sseries
drawings. Architectural drawings of shafts in the building describe shaft wall and
stair information squired for coordination. The scoping of the steel stairs as part of
the steel paduege will be done by the GC.
2, various items NOT IN CONTRACT (N.1C.) are AAC planks, CMU, metal stud walls,
masonry venser, EIFS, limestone, paver systems, storefront, wrlain wall, window
systems, and fire proofing to mans a few.
BID SET 8.300 GENERAL NOTES
1. Soong Notes:
a. The Scope for the B.300 Bid Set consists of the following:
I. All exterior walls and veneer (masonry, EIFS, metal cladding, etc.) from the
Plaza level (0'-0') up to roof and associated parapets,
fl. Any thermal insuelon in the exterior walls,
iii. Damp -proofing, weather barrier and flashing,
N. Railings and ornamental steel as part of the facades and roof,
v. Roof sWctures for stairs and mechanical shags as shown on drawings,
top n9 .
vi. Storefront systems, doors and windows in the exterior walls,
Al. Roof membrane, insulation and associated mof accessories,
viii. Gutters and associated flashing and materials,
ix. Gypsum board fireproofing systems associated with framing adjacent to
exterior wells and mof system and any associated painting and sealants.
It. All fire -slopping and caulking assemblies associated with work in this scope are
part of this Bid Set.
c. Perimeter concrete beams on the first floor between V-0" and +7-0" elevations
shall be included in this package unless scoped differently by the GC.
d. Various items NOT IN CONTRACT (N.I.C.) shall be:

Hi. Interior gypsum board, interior doors and interior window trim,
N. Hollow metal doors, frames and hardware that are associated strictly with
the interior or pardl garage,

2. EIFS Venear.
a. Surfaces that project more than 2' and have slopes shall be coated with an
additional reinforcement product formulated for such applications. Follow
Specific manufacturers requirements for such instances.
b. Provide reinforcement for attached cladding such as copings, roofing or
flashing.
C. All EIFS shown on exterior sheathing is intended to be a drainable system
between the EIFS and weather bonier on the exterior sheathing. Some of the
EIFS veneer @ the First Floor is to be directly adhered to masonry. Review
drawings details carefully to understand where drainable systems occur.
Provide required starter tracks that weep the drainage plane. Some details
require a'universal starter tiac k'to allow the finish to return beck to the
underside of window head areas.
d. Where EIFS panels or shop built portions are possible, notify the architect for
approval and coordination. Provide shop drawings for all pieces. Coordinate
with other trades for reinforcement, blocking, penetrations, windows, doors,
storefronts, joints, flashing, roofing and sealants. EIFS conbractor is
responsible for fiend measuring site and as-0uifl conditions.
3. Storefront 8 teres will require the supplier and manufacturer have engineered the
systems for seismic loads and wind bads described by the specifications and local
and state codes. Refer to Bid Set 8.200 S 8.400 and the Structural Engineows
drawings for design data. All systems will be required to be candied by a Stnniural
Engineers stamp registered in the State of Indiana and submitted to the Architect
for approval.
4. At Stone Masonry in contact with sidewalks, hardscape pavers and streetscepes,
dolomitic or grange limestone base will need to be provided.
BID SET 13.400 GENERAL NOTES
1. Scoping Notes:
a. The Scope for the 8.400 Bid Set consists of all CMU walls and paditbns for
common spaces in both the parking level and frost floor up to the underside of
the second floor deck. Interior stud partition walls contributing to common
spaces can be included in this package as wail. Std partitions on the first floor
include CMU between the 0 and +7-0" elevations. Include any veneer
anchorage as detailed when CMU serves as the veneer back-up. (If section
drawings indicated any part of the 2 or 3 course CMU work is not in contract
and is not a perimeter exterior wall, than disregard the note in the section
It. Various Berns NOT IN CONTRACT (N.I.C.), asAAC planks, masonry veneer,
EIFS, limestone, paver systems, storefront, curtain wall, window systems, steel
fire proofing.
c. Doors included in 8.400:
i. Hollow metal doors, frames and hardware on both the parking level and
fist floor of walls that are pad of the scope of work. Exclude doors and
frames in walls as noted not to be included, such as exterior perimeter retail
walls on the fist floor.
ii. Coiling fire doors at fan rooms and coiling loading dock doors.
d. All fire -stopping and caulking assemblies associated with work in this scope as
part of this Bid Set
e. Louvers andmlling firs doors for Parking Level ENVAC and Mechanical Fen
Rooms are Included.
2. Perimeter CMU walls on the first floor between the 0 and +2'0' elevations will be
included in a later bid package.
3. Refer to the Masonry Walls Schedule in the SSaril drawings for minimum
reinforcing requirements.
4. Masonry Contractor (MC) is to verify, that existing vertical reinforcing stubbed out
from C.I.P. work is per the requirements in the S -series drawings. The MC is
required to epoxy grout additional dowels into the C.I.P. work as necessary to
satisfy the S -series drawings Review all Engineers Supplemental Instructions.
5. At doors shown on the floor plan next to perpendicular walls, leave a full 8" cmu
distance to the well, U.N.O. or dimensioned otherwise. NobfyArchdect of any
conflicting conditions.
6. Masonry rough openings typically are 4112' wider than the nominal door size,
U.N.O.
7. Omit top wase of CMU at doors thmehods for slab pour for the width of the rough
opening. See door sill details.
