Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. 1.2 SUMMARY A. Section includes single sided, free standing, vertical hanging bicycle racks. B. Related Requirements: 1. Division 03 Cast-in-Place Concrete for attachment to concrete. 2. Division 05 Metal Fabrication for attachment to concrete. 1.3 PRE-INSTALLATION MEETINGS A. Pre-installation Conference: Conduct conference at Project site. 1.4 ACTION SUBMITTALS A. Product Data: For each type of product. 1. Include construction details, material descriptions, dimensions of individual components and profiles, and finishes for bicycle racks. B. Shop Drawings: 1. Include plans, elevations, sections, mounting and attachment details. 2. Include details of equipment assemblies. Indicate dimensions, weights, loads, required clearances, method of field assembly and components. C. Samples: For each product and for each color specified. 1.5 INFORMATIONAL SUBMITTALS A. Qualification Data: For Installer and manufacturer. B. Product Certificates: For each type of product. 1. Bicycle rack. C. Sample Warranty: For manufacturer's warranty. 1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Refer to Specification Section 01 40 00 “Quality Requirements.” B. Installer Qualifications: Refer to Specification Section 01 40 00 “Quality Requirements.” 1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING A. Environmental Limitations: Do not deliver or install bicycle racks until spaces are enclosed and weathertight, wet work in spaces is complete and dry, and temporary HVAC system is operating and maintaining ambient temperature and humidity conditions at occupancy levels during the remainder of the construction period. B. Store bicycle racks in manufacturer's protective packaging and according to manufacturer's written instructions. 1.8 WARRANTY A. Manufacturer's Warranty: Refer to manufacturer’s written warranty. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1 MANUFACTURERS A. Products: Subject to compliance with requirements, available products that may be incorporated into the Work include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. U Bike Rack - Heavy-Duty, Bronze. 2.2 GENERAL FINISH REQUIREMENTS A. Protect mechanical finishes on exposed surfaces from damage by applying a strippable, temporary protective covering before shipping. B. Finish: Powder coat. PART 3 - EXECUTION THE KENT 12 93 13 - THE KENT Issue Date 05.09.18 BICYCLE RACKS THE KENT 3.1 EXAMINATION A. Examine substrates areas and conditions, with Installer present, for compliance with requirements for installation tolerances and other conditions affecting performance of the Work. B. Examine products before installation. Reject products that are wet, moisture damaged, or mold damaged. C. Examine walls and floors for suitable conditions where bicycle racks will be installed. D. Prepare written report, endorsed by Installer, listing conditions detrimental to performance. E. Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. 3.2 ERECTION AND INSTALLATION A. Comply with manufacturer’s written instructions for installation. 3.3 ERECTION TOLERANCES A. Comply with manufacturer’s written instructions for installation. 3.4 ADJUSTING A. Adjust hardware to function smoothly as recommended by manufacturer. 3.5 PROTECTION A. Remove and replace products that are damaged. END OF SECTION 12 93 13
