Section Includes: 1. Electrical connections to equipment specified under other Sections and/or furnished by the Owner. B. Products Installed But Not Supplied Under This Section: 1. This Contractor is responsible for connection of equipment supplied by other Contractors as indicated in the Contract Documents. 2. This Contractor is responsible for connection of equipment supplied by Owner as indicated in the Contract Documents. 3. Where control stations, equipment whips, etc. are supplied with equipment to be connected, install and connect to equipment. 1.02 RELATED DOCUMENTS A. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. B. General Requirements specifically applicable to Division 26 in addition to Division 00 and Division 01 provisions. C. Division 07 - Joint Sealants. D. Section 26 05 00 - Basic Electrical Requirements. E. Division 20 – Mechanical. F. Division 21 - Fire Protection. G. Division 22 – Plumbing. H. Division 23 – Mechanical HVAC. 1.03 REFERENCES A. Review the Drawings and all sections of the Specifications for equipment furnished by other Contractors and the Owner throughout the entire project. B. See references noted in Specification Section 26 05 00, Paragraph 1.03. THE KENT 26 05 02 - 2 THE KENT Issue Date 05.09.18 EQUIPMENT WIRING SYSTEMS THE KENT 1.04 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION A. Review the Drawings and all sections of the Specifications for equipment furnished by other Contractors and the Owner throughout the entire project. B. Provide all conduit, flexible conduit for movable equipment, wiring, conduit fittings, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, motor starters, motor starters interlocks, motor lugs, push- button stations, remote stations, indicating lights, control devices such as limit switches, labor and other materials to connect the equipment under each of the following situations: 1. As specifically indicated on the Electrical Drawings. 2. As specifically indicated in specification sections of Division 02 through Division 33. 1.05 SUBMITTALS A. General: 1. Refer to Division 01 and Divisions 26, 27 and 28 technical sections for additional requirements. 1.06 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Certifications: 1. Equipment and materials shall be UL listed for application and so labeled. 1.07 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING A. Deliver, store, protect, and handle products to site under provisions of Division 1 and Section 26 05 00. 1.08 SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING A. Coordinate the work specified in this Division under the provisions of Division 1 and section 26 05 00. 1.09 WARRANTY A. Provide warranty under provisions of Divisions 0 and 1 and Section 26 05 00. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.01 MATERIALS A. Cords And Caps: 1. Cord Construction: Oil-resistant thermoset insulated Type SO multi-conductor flexible cord with identified equipment grounding conductor, suitable for extra hard usage. 2. Cord Size: Suitable for connected load of equipment and rating of branch circuit overcurrent protection. THE KENT 26 05 02 - 3 THE KENT Issue Date 05.09.18 EQUIPMENT WIRING SYSTEMS THE KENT 3. Attachment Plug Configuration: Match receptacle configuration at outlet provided for equipment. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.01 EXAMINATION A. Verify that equipment is ready for electrical connection, wiring, and energizing. 3.02 PREPARATION A. Review equipment submittals prior to installation and electrical rough-in. Verify location, size, and type of connections. Coordinate details of equipment connections with supplier and installer. 3.03 INSTALLATION A. Make electrical connections of all circuits and wiring indicated on the Electrical Drawings and in the Electrical specifications. Make these connections in control panels or in wiring compartment of pre-wired equipment in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. B. For electrical equipment and devices furnished by other contractors that is shown on the Electrical Drawings and located in or on casework and built-in furniture, provide conduit, fittings, boxes and wiring ahead of these electrical equipment and devices to make the electrical connections. C. Unless specifically indicated otherwise, the Contractor providing specific devices and equipment that require electrical connections is responsible for providing all electrical equipment and wiring that is not depicted on the Electrical Drawings but is required to complete the electrical connections of these devices and equipment. D. Verify with the other Contractors and the Owner the locations of all equipment requiring electrical connections that are depicted on the Electrical Drawings. 1. The other Contractors are responsible for the correct locations of all equipment provided by them. 2. The Owner is responsible for the correct locations of all equipment provided by him. 3. Provide disconnect switches for all electrical connections to equipment provided by other Contractors and the Owner that is not furnished with factory-mounted disconnect switches. E. Locate outlet boxes, switches, controls, etc., as depicted on the Electrical Drawings and directed by the appropriate Contractors and the Owner. F. Use wire and cable with insulation suitable for temperatures encountered in heat-producing equipment. G. Install prefinished cord set where connection with attachment plug is indicated or specified, or use attachment plug with suitable strain-relief clamps. THE KENT 26 05 02 - 4 THE KENT Issue Date 05.09.18 EQUIPMENT WIRING SYSTEMS THE KENT H. Provide suitable strain-relief clamps for cord connections to outlet boxes and equipment connections boxes. I. The other Contractors and the Owner are to provide manufacturer's wiring diagrams to this Contractor for the devices and equipment provided by them. END OF SECTION
