AF0001, 10-16-13, Rev.3 Page 1 of 1 Weather: Cloudy, mid 70’s 1.Earth Exploration, Inc. (EEI) was on site at the request of Ron Hueston with Gibraltar Construction to perform general construction observation. EEI observed the grading contractor working on the roundabout area subgrade and subbase. EEI performed a proof roll for the roundabout and found that an area approximately 5’W x 15’L x 2’D had to be undercut due to soft wet material at the subgrade elevation. The contractor removed the soft wet material and then placed #53 stone in two 6” lifts, compacting each lift as required. Following the remediation of the undercut location, the contractor finished grading the area and prepared it for the placement of subbase stone. This stone placement will be observed and tested for density upon completion of the placement and fine grading later this week. No further work was performed today.
