Weather: Sunny, mid 60’s
1.Earth Exploration, Inc. (EEI) was on site at the request of Ron Hueston with Gibraltar Construction to
perform field density testing. This work was performed for #53 stone placed as engineered fill for the
roundabout subbase. EEI noted that the contractor placed the stone in a controlled lift of 8”. Compaction
efforts were made for the engineered fill with a vibratory plate compactor. Field density testing was
performed by EEI to confirm that the specified level of compaction was achieved by the contractor in their
compaction efforts. Test results indicated that the specified level of compaction was achieved at the
location as noted on the attached Daily in Place Density Test Report.
2.EEI also observed the grading contractor continue placing #8 stone for drain pipe excavation backfill in the
playground area. This material was compacted in place, no density testing was performed on the #8 stone
as it is open graded and density testing is not required. No further work was performed today.
