HomeMy WebLinkAboutInspection InformationT N S P E C T= ON T N F ORM AZ'= ON = A MINIMUM OF 24-HOUR NOTICE IS REQUIRED IN SCHEDULING ANY INSPECTION. DURING HEAVY WORK PERIODS, AN INSPECTION MAY TAKE UP TO 5 DAYS TO BE PERFORMED. If a specific time of day is needed for an inspection, you must schedule this directly with the building inspector by calling 844-6433 before 8:30 a.m. THE FOLLOWING INSPECTIONS ARE REQUIRED WITH YOUR BUILDING PERMIT: 1. FOOTINGS: Inspection is to be made before you pour. Note the 24-hour notice minimum and plan your concrete scheduling accordingly. TEMPORARY SAW POLE FOR ELECTRICAL: Indianapolis Power & Light Company requires G.F.I., Public Service requires breakers. 3. BASEMENT PLUMBING: Underground plumbing must be inspected before the basement floor is poured. 4. ROUGH -IN: Framing, Electrical, Plumbing and Furnace or Heating must be installed Please Note: A Do Not Occupy sticker will be posted at the time of the rough -in inspection. This must not be removed until a Certificate of Occupanev has been issued from the Department of Communitv Development. Carmel, IN. This notice does not indicate a problem with the construction, only that a C/O has not yet been issued, therefore, it cannot be occupied. Also, meter base inspections are not automatically included in the rough -in inspection. Please indicate when scheduling the rough -in inspection if the permanent meter base inspection is also needed at the same time. 5. INSPECTION FOR UNDERGROUND AND METER ON HOUSE: (See note above on rough -in). 6. FINAL: All work to be completed including final grading. Final electrical will also be made at this time. Sump pump discharge facilities will also be inspected. After a final inspection is performed, an additional 24 hours is required before a Certificate of Occupancv will be issued. THIS, PLUS THE POSSIBILITY OF AN INSPECTION TAKING UP TO 5 DAYS TO BE PERFORMED SHOULD BE KEPT IN MIND WHEN SCHEDULING ANY MORTGAGE CLOSINGS. A FEE WILL BE CHARGED FOR ANY INSPECTION THAT REQUIRES MORE THAN ONE TRIP FROM THE BUILDING INSPECTOR. THIS CHARGE WILL BE $25.00 FOR RESIDENTIAL AND $50.00 FOR COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION AND MUST BE PAID BEFORE ANY FURTHER INSPECTIONS WILL BE SCHEDULED AND PERFORMED. N OT IE C E The Carmel Zoning Ordinance provides for a penalty if any construction is continued without having any one of the above inspections scheduled, performed and approved. This penalty will be $100.00 and a notarized affidavit will also be required.
