(EEI) was on site at the request of Bill with Gibraltar Construction to make observations of and perform foundation testing. The contractor made excavations for foundations for wing walls on South side of the building. EEI noted that the excavation work was extended to the approximate design bottom of footing, exposing brown clay that appeared to be firm and stable. EEI performed hand auger testing to confirm the presence of suitable bearing stratum at the excavated level. Test results appeared the foundation subgrade was suitable for the intended design.
