>Dear City Council Members,
I am writing regarding my concerns with the Old Town proposal to develop the above mentioned property.
My biggest concern is traffic. Currently we are faced daily with traffic problems I'll give you some of examples I
have personally witnessed.
1. The roundabout at Carey and 136 on a weekday morning There are backups in every direction.(southbound
Carey, and westbound 136 all the way to the roundabout at keystone ave). Currently a lot of traffic will sneak
through our neighborhood to exit directly onto westbound 136 hoping people will let them in. All of which are in a
hurry and endanger our children waiting for their school buses.
2. Northbound Keystone traffic trying to exit onto 136th Street. The other evening on a Wednesday around 6:15 my
husband and I were heading out to dinner, I witnessed a huge back up in the northbound lanes on Keystone trying to
exit to 136th Street. It was backed up to Main Street.
While I appreciate the higher quality of the Old Towns product, I can't imagine adding an additional 200 housing
units and all the additional traffic it will bring to the already existing traffic problems we have. I also understand that
when the road construction that will allow Keystone Ave entry from 146th is completed it will help to alleviate some
of our backups. Although I don't believe it will be enough if we were to add 200 housing units. If you didn't approve
the earlier proposal of adding 167 units of people 55+ years of age, please don't allow this either.
Thank you for your consideration.
