CODE COMPLIANCE NOTE
ALL WORK IS TO BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL GOVERNING CODES AND REGULATING AGENCIES.
THIS PROJECT IS DESIGNED AND DOCUMENTED PER THE ARCHITECTS INTERPRETATION OF THE CODE
REQUIREMENTS. THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN DESIGNED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ADA GUIDELINES (PER
THE BUILDING CODE AMENDMENT SECTION 1101.2). VARIOUS GOVERNING AGENCIES SOMETIMES
INTERPRET THE CODES, LAWS AND ORDINANCES DIFFERENTLY. THESE AGENCIES HAVE JURISDICTION
TO REQUIRE CHANGES IN DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION INCLUDING THOSE AGENCIES INVOLVED WITH
THE "AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT'.
FOR FULL CODE NOTES REFER TO SHEET A0.1.
DEFERRED PERMIT SUBMITTALS
A. FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS: FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR IS TO PROVIDE ENGINEERED
DOCUMENTS FOR THE DESIGN OF THE FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM MODIFICATIONS PER STATE AND
LOCAL CODES. CONTRACTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING ANY APPLICABLE PERMITS.
B. FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS: FIRE ALARM CONTRACTOR IS TO PROVIDE ENGINEERED DOCUMENTS FOR
THE DESIGN OF THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM MODIFICATION PER STATE AND LOCAL CODES.
CONTRACTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING ANY APPLICABLE PERMITS.
C. EXTERIOR SIGNAGE EXTERIOR SIGNAGE VENDOR IS TO PROVIDE ENGINEERED DOCUMENTS THAT
ARE COORDINATED WITH LANDLORD AND TENANT CRITERIA AND PER LOCAL CODES. VENDOR WILL
BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING ANY APPLICABLE PERMITS.
FIRE SUPPRESSION NOTE
THE BUILDING SHALL BE FULLY SPRINILERED, AND SHALL TIE INTO EXISTING BUILDINGS FIRE PROTECTION
SYSTEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL LOCAL CODE REQUIREMENTS. THE FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR
SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DESIGN, CALCULATIONS, DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE FIRE
PROTECTION SYSTEM, FOR FILING WITH ALL APPLICABLE AGENCIES FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL, AND
FOR OBTAINING ALL REQUIRED PERMITS PRIOR TO START OF INSTALLATION. THE FIRE PROTECTION
SYSTEM SHALL BE DESIGNED AND INSTALLED IN STRICT COMPLIANCE WITH NFPA 13 AND THE CODES AND
REGULATIONS OF APPLICABLE GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES.
WORK RESTRICTIONS
A DEBRIS RESULTING FROM THE DEMOLITION AND EXECUTION OF THE WORK SHALL BE REMOVED AND
LEGALLY DISPOSED OF OFF -SITE. EACH CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEAN UP OF
THEIR TRASH ON SITE DAILY.
B. PROTECT AREA OF WORK AND ADJACENT AREAS FROM DAMAGE.
C. CONTACT RESPECTIVE UTILITY COMPANIES FOR EXACT LOCATION OF APPLICABLE UTILITIES AND
TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT UTILITIES BELOW GROUND AND ABOVE GROUND AND
TO NOT INTERRUPT SERVICE TO THE TENANT OR ANY NEIGHBORING PROPERTIES.
D. EACH CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE ADVANCE ARRANGEMENTS WITH THE PROPERTY
OWNERLANDLORD FOR ANY WORK WHICH WILL AFFECT THE OPERATIONS OF NEARBY TENANTS OR
ANY NEIGHBORING BUSINESSES.
E. EACH CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE ADVANCE ARRANGEMENTS WITH THE PROPERTY
OWNERILANDLORD FOR ANY WORK BEFORE OR AFTER NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS AND SHALL BE
RESPONSIBLE FOR SECURING THE PREMISES (AND NEIGHBORING PROPERTIES) AT ALL TIMES.
F. ALL MATERIALS STORED WITHIN THE BUILDING SHALL BE NEATLY STACKED AND SHALL NOT
INTERFERE WITH OPERATION OF THE FACILITY OR NEARBY TENANTS. DO NOT STORE COMBUSTIBLE
MATERIALS ON THE PREMISES FOR A PERIOD LONGER THAN NECESSARY FOR EXECUTION OF THE
PROJECT.
G. STORAGE, DISPENSING OR USE OF ANY FLAMMABLE OR COMBUSTIBLE LIQUIDS, FLAMMABLE GAS
AND HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES SHALL COMPLY WITH UNIFORM FIRE CODE REQUIREMENTS.
H. EACH CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL BARRICADES, ETC, AS REQUIRED BYLAW, CODE, OR
ORDINANCE AND AS OTHERWISE REQUIRED.
GENERALNOTES
A THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING ALL PERMITS.
B. GENERAL CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE WORK OF ALL TRADES.
C. VCA REQUESTS THATA FULL-TIME SUPERWTENDANT BE ON -SITE FOR PROIECTATALL TIMES.
D. THE GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR THIS PROJECT ARE THE GENERAL CONDITIONS OF THE
CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION, AIA DOCUMENT A201, CURRENT EDOION, A COPY OF WHICH IS
ON FILE AND MAY BE EXAMINED IN THE OFFICE OF THE ARCHITECT.
E. THESE DRAWINGS INDICATE THE G ENERAL SCOPE OF THE PROJECT IN THE TERMS OF
ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN CONCEPT, THE DIMENSIONS OF THE BUILDING, THE MAJOR
ARCHITECTURAL ELEMENTS, AND THE TYPE OF STRUCTURAL SYSTEM. THE DRAWINGS DO NOT
NECESSARILY INDICATE OR DESCRIBE ALL WORK REQUIRED FOR FULL PERFORMANCE AND
COMPLETION OF THE REQUIREMENTS OFTHE CONTRACT. THE TRADE CONTRACTORS SHALL
PERFORM SUCH SERVICES, AND FURNISH ALL ITEMS REQUIRED FOR THE PROPER EXECUTION OF
THE PROJECT.
F. ALL OR PART OF THESE DOCUMENTS WERE GENERATED BY ELECTRONIC MEANS. THE
ARCHITECT IS RELYING ON THE ACCURACY OF THE SOFTWARE EMPLOYED.
G. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH CONTRACTOR TO BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE PROJECT AND
BRING ANY DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN DRAWINGS AND FIELD CONDITIONS TO THE IMMEDIATE
ATTENTION OF THE ARCHITECT.
H. NO MATERIAL SUBSTITUTIONS WILL BE ALLOWED UNLESS SUBMITTED IN WRITING TO THE
ARCHITECT. SUBMIT REQUEST FOR SUBSTITUTIONS, REVISIONS, OR CHANGES TO THE ARCHITECT
PER SPECIFICATION MANUAL REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO PURCHASE, FABRICATION OR
