According to County Ordinance 8-1-83, the setback requirement for a swimming pool to the septic system would be 50 feet if there are suction water lines. However, if the swimming pool is a completely sealed system, the setback requirement is 10 feet from the swimming pool to any part of the septic system. B.- Pools and s than two feet in depth and/or more than twelve feet in diameter fenced area. must be enclosed within a C. Pools and decks cannot be located within any easements. D. Fence must be six (6) feet in height and constructed so as to prohibit access by children and animals to the pool area. E. Pool and deck cannot be located closer than three (3) feet to any easement and no closer than ten (10) feet to any property line or septic tank or leach field. INSPECTIONS All pool construction requires at least two inspections (larer or specially constructed pools may require extra inspections). IN First inspection (rough in) needs to be called in after the hole is excavated, plumbing and electrical installed, but before any concrete is oured or pool bottom or sides are installed. Corners of the pool deck must be marked, preferably staked. After plumbing and electrical is installed (before it is covered up), have corners of pool staked for inspection. Second inspection (Final) needs to be called in to the Carmel Department of Community Development once project is complete, fence installed, all grading and seeding done. If the homeowner is responsible for this, it must be noted on permit application. Per approved ordinance, fines are to be assessed if request for inspections are not called in and completed by our inspectors at the proper time. Indicate on pool permit who will call in inspections. Minimum 24-hour notice required.
