GENERAL DEMOLITION NOTES

THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALLTEMPORARY
PARTITIONS AND TEMPORARY DOORS AS DEEMED
NECESSARY BY THE ARCHITECT, ENGINEER AND OWNER.
THEY SHALL BE WELL MAINTAINED AND ANY DAMAGE
REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY TO AVOID MIGRATION OF DUST
INTO ADJOINING AREAS.

EXISTING WALL, FLOOR, CEILINGS, AND CASEWORK
FINISHES TO REMAIN SHALL BE PROTECTED AND ANY
DAMAGE RESULTING FROM DEMOLITION WORK SHALL BE
REPAIRED,

WHEN DEMOLITION CAUSES DAMAGE TO FLOOR, WALL OR
CEILING SURFACES THAT WILL REMAIN EXPOSED IN THE
FINISHED WORK, SUCH DAMAGE SHALL BE REPAIRED AS
REQUIRED TO RECEIVE NEW FINISHES.

THE CONTRACTOR S HALL COVER AND PROTECT OWNERS
EQUIPMENT WHICH CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM THE
PROJECT AREA.

WHERE EXTERIOR WALLS, DOORS ANDIOR WINDOWS ARE
TO BE REMOVED OR MODIFIED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
TAKE ALL NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO ENSURE THAT THE
EXISTING BUILDING REMAINS SECURE, WEATHER TIGHT,
AND WITHOUT DRAFTS,

MAKE ALL DEMOLITION CLEAN AND COMPLETE AND INA
MANNER SUITABLE TO ACCEPT NEW FINISHES ANDIOR
SURFACES.

REMOVE ALL EXISTING WALL MOUNTED ITEMS WITHIN THE
PROJECT LIMIT AREA WHICH ARE NOT NOTED TO REMAIN.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DISPOSE OF THESE ITEMS AFTER
INSPECTION BY THE OWNER FOR FUTURE USE. IF ITEMS
ARE REMOVED FROM WALLS THAT ARE TO REMAIN, THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL PATCH WALLS AS REQUIRED TO
RECEIVE NEW FINISHES ANDIOR SURFACES.
H.
DEMOLITION FOR BUILDING SERVICES AND UTILITIES SHALL
BE PERFORMED BY THE TRADE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT
UTILITY. FOR EXAMPLE, PLUMBING FIXTURES SHALL BE
DEMOLISHED BY THE MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR.
OPENINGS FOR DEMOLISHED UTILITIES SHALL BE INFILLED
BY TRADE RESPONSIBLE FOR PIPING, DUCT OR CONDUIT
DEMOLITION. OPENINGS THROUGH FIRE RATED
CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE PATCHED TO MATCH EXISTING
CONSTRUCTION OR BE FIRESTOPPED.
REMOVE EXISTING FLOOR AND BASE MATERIALS IN ALL
AREAS SCHEDULED TO RECEIVE NEW FLOOR AND BASE,
REFER TO FINISH DRAWINGS OR SCHEDULES. REMOVE
FLOOR AND BASE ADHESIVES AND PREPARE SURFACES AS
REQUIRED TO RECEIVE NEW FINISHES. MAKE DEMOLITION
CLEAN AND COMPLETE INA MANNER SUITABLE TO ACCEPT
NEW FINISHES ANDIOR SURFACES.

REMOVE EXISTING WALL FINISHES ON ALL WALLS
SCHEDULED TO RECEIVE NEW FINISHES. REFERTOFINISH
DRAWINGS FOR LOCATIONS OF NEW FINISHES. REMOVE
EXISTING WALL COVERINGS AND ADHESIVES, PREPARE
WALL SURFACES AS DETAILED IN SPECIFICATIONS.
K.
EXISTING MINI BLINDS TO REMAIN. PROTECT AS
NECESSARY TO PREVENT DAMAGE. REFER TO GENERAL
FINISH NOTES ON SHEET IF001.
