PHASING. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THE FIXTURES, EQUIPMENT AND PIPING TO
REMAIN ACTIVE WHERE REQUIRED BY THE PROJECT PHASING AS REQUIRED TO AVOID
REMOVAL OF SYSTEMS TO REMAIN.
C. INACTIVE, ABANDONED SYSTEMS NOT SHOWN ARE TO BE REPORTED TO THE ENGINEER
OF RECORD.
D. CONTRACTOR IS TO COORDINATE ALL SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS WITH OWNER
REPRESENTATIVES, MAINTENANCE STAFF, AND END -USERS. CONTRACTOR SHALL
PROVIDE SUFFICIENT ADVANCE NOTICE TO ALL AFFECTED PARTIES OF IMPENDING
OUTAGE.
E. SYSTEMS INDICATED BY DASHED LINES OR RENDERED OBSOLETE BY CONSTRUCTION
ARE TO BE REMOVED IN THEIR ENTIRETY UNLESS OTHERWISE DESCRIBED BY PLAN
NOTE(S). THIS INCLUDES THE REMOVAL OF EXISTING HANGERS, INSULATION, AND
ASSOCIATED CONTROLS AND ACCESSORIES. ALL PIPING TERMINATIONS NOT SHOWN
AS BEING REUSED SHALL BE CAPPED. CONTRACTOR SHALL PATCH INSULATION
DAMAGED DURING DEMOLITION AND WHERE PIPING IS SHOWN TO BE CAPPED.
F. WHEN EQUIPMENT REQUIRING ELECTRICAL POWER IS REMOVED, CONTRACTOR SHALL
ALSO DEMOLISH EXISTING POWER WIRING AND CONDUIT. A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN
SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REMOVING ALL POWER WIRING AND CONDUIT.
G. WHERE MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, OR FIRE PROTECTION WORK
PENETRATES EXISTING WALLS OR FLOORS TO REMAIN, THE OPENING CREATED MUST
BE REPAIRED TO MATCH THE EXISTING CONSTRUCTION AND FIRE RATING BY THE
GENERAL CONSTRUCTION TRADE SKILLED IN THE WORK TO BE PERFORMED.
H. IF THE WORK OF OTHER TRADES IS CURRENTLY SUPPORTED BY WORK TO BE
DEMOLISHED, CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH AND INSTALL NEW SUPPORTS.
1. UNUSED HANGERS FOUND WITHIN THE PROJECT SCOPE AREA SHALL BE REMOVED.
J. THE OWNER SHALL HAVE FIRST RIGHT OF REFUSAL FOR ANY ITEMS REMOVED FROM
THE PROJECT SCOPE AREA. ALL ITEMS NOT CLAIMED BY OWNER SHALL BE REMOVED
FROM PREMISES.
A. NEW WORK SHOWN ON DRAWINGS IS CONCEPTUAL IN NATURE. CONTRACTOR IS
RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COORDINATION OF ALL TRADES. CONTRACTORSHALL
PERFORM FINAL COORDINATION OF ALL TRADES AFTER CEILING REMOVAL ALLOWS
FURTHER SITE INVESTIGATION ON EXISTING BUILDINGS.
B. UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISEON THE DRAWINGS, REFER TO SCHEDULES FOR PIPE
SIZES TO PLUMBING FIXTURES, DRAINS, AND EQUIPMENT.
C. WHERE EQUIPMENT REQUIRING ACCESS MUST BE INSTALLED ABOVE GYPSUM CEILING,
CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ADEQUATE ACCESS WITH ALL TRADES AND
PROVIDE THE REQUIRED ACCESS PANELS.

DRAWINGS OR APPROVED BY THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER.
H. WHERE NEW PIPE PENETRATIONS THROUGH EXISTING CONCRETE SLABSARETO
OCCUR, CONTRACTOR SHALL LOCATE ANY EXISTING SYSTEMS OR REINFORCING BY X-
RAYISCAN PRIOR TO CORE DRILLING TO AVOID DAMAGE TO SYSTEMS OR
REINFORCING.
L PROVIDE WATER HAMMER ARRESTORS ATALL FLUSH VALVES AND WHERE INDICATED
ON PLANS AND DETAILS IN ACCORDNACE WITH PDI-WH-201 GUIDELINES.
J. NO PIPING SHALL PASS THROUGH OR BE LOCATED IN ELECTRICAL ROOMS, TELECOM
ROOMS, ELEVATOR EQUIPMENT ROOMS, OR STAIR SHAFTS.
A. EXISTING SYSTEMS SHOWN ARE BASED ON EXISTING DRAWINGS AND FIELD VERIFIED TO
THE EXTENT POSSIBLE. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THAT SERVICES INDICATED FOR

NOTE(S). THIS INCLUDES THE REMOVAL OF EXISTING HANGERS, INSULATION, AND
ASSOCIATED CONTROLS AND ACCESSORIES. ALL PIPING TERMINATIONS NOT SHOWN AS
BEING REUSED SHALL BE CAPPED. CONTRACTOR SHALL PATCH INSULATION DAMAGED
DURING DEMOLITION AND WHERE PIPING IS SHOWN TO BE CAPPED.
F. WHEN EQUIPMENT REQUIRING ELECTRICAL POWER IS REMOVED, CONTRACTOR SHALL
ALSO DEMOLISH EXISTING POWER WIRING AND CONDUIT. A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN
SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REMOVING ALL POWER WIRING AND CONDUIT.
G. WHERE MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, OR FIRE PROTECTION WORK
PENETRATES EXISTING WALLS OR FLOORS TO REMAIN, THE OPENING CREATED MUST
BE REPAIRED TO MATCH THE EXISTING CONSTRUCTION AND FIRE RATING BY THE
GENERAL CONSTRUCTION TRADE SKILLED IN THE WORK TO BE PERFORMED.
H. IF THE WORK OF OTHER TRADES IS CURRENTLY SUPPORTED BY WORK TO BE
DEMOLISHED, CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH AND INSTALL NEW SUPPORTS.
I. UNUSED HANGERS FOUND WITHIN THE PROJECT SCOPE AREA SHALL BE REMOVED.
A. WHERE RENOVATIONS OCCUR, MODIFY EXISTING SPRINKLER COVERAGE TO
ACCOMMODATE NEW LAYOUT. REFER TO ARCHITECTURAL PLANS FOR CHANGES TO
THE AREA OF SCOPE COORDINATE SYSTEMS WITH EXISTING AND NEW SERVICES.
B. WHERE EQUIPMENT REQUIRING ACCESS MUST BE INSTALLED ABOVE GYPSUM CEILING,
CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ADEQUATE ACCESS WITH ALL TRADES AND PROVIDE
THE REQUIRED ACCESS PANELS.
C. WHERE EQUIPMENT REQUIRING ACCESS IS INSTALLED BY FIRE PROTECTION
CONTRACTOR OR OTHER TRADES, ACCESS SHALL BE COORDINATED AND SYSTEMS
ROUTED TO ALLOW ACCESS TO EQUIPMENT.
D. WHERE PROJECT SCOPE IS PHASED, CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE PHASING
REQUIREMENTS WITH ARCHITECTURAL PHASING PLANS.
E. CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE WITH CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE FOR ALL WORK
PERFORMED.
F. WHERE NEW WORK IS BEING PERFORMED ON AN EXISTING BUILDING, CONTRACTOR
SHALL SCHEDULE SHUTDOWN OF EXISTING FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM WITH OWNER
AND NOTIFY LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT OF SYSTEM AND AREAS OUT OF SERVICE.
PROVIDE FIRE WATCH OF AREAS AND SYSTEMS AFFECTED.
G. SPRINKLER PIPING SERVING ELECTRICAL ROOMS, TELECOM ROOMS, AND OTHER
SIMILAR SPACES SHALL BE MINIMIZED TO ONLY THE SPRINKLER PIPING AND HEAD THAT
SERVES THE SPACE. SPRINKLER PIPING SERVING THESE SPACES SHALL BE ROUTED IN
SUCH A MANNER TO MINIMIZE PIPING WITHIN THE ROOM AND SHALL NOT BE ROUTED
OVER ELECTRICAL PANELS OR EQUIPMENT WITHIN THE ROOM.
H. ALL PIPE PENETRATIONS SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS AND
EXISTING CONDITIONS. PIPE PENETRATIONS THROUGH CONCRETE BEAMS, JOISTS, OR
COLUMNS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE UNLESS SPECIFICALLY NOTED ON THE STRUCTURAL
DRAWINGS OR APPROVED BY THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER.
I. FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE A COMPLETE AND OPERABLE SYSTEM IN
ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA, STATE, AND LOCAL CODES. COORDINATE WIRING OF FIRE
ALARM DEVICES WITH ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR.
