FC CM Layout cabinet locations in kitchens and baths. Verify correct space for cabinets
FC CM Think about outlet/switch location in kitchen. Are all location either under cabinets or outside of cabinets? This has
to do with backsplash tile
FC CM Think about the locations for the outlets in bathrooms, no outlets in side splashed or behind mirrors.
FC CM Check ½ wall height to be certain it is tall enough to allow casing and vanity side splash to not interfere same
applies in home office area
FC CM Check to be sure toilet and shower drains do not interfere it the Joist locations
FC CM Verify correct walls or no walls are installed at stairway, walls vs rails.

FC CM Check for correct truss bracing, note you will need truss drawings for this. Additionally correct overlapping is
required at brace connections

transom.

FC CM Look for nails that have missed the joist and remove them
FC CM Joist hangers are secure with correct nails and joist are glued
FC CM Straps at bottom plate secured with 2 nails each strap on top and spaced 12 inches from plate ends and corners 6
feet on center.
FC CM Basement is clean no debris
FC CM Basement stairs are shimmed ½ inch from wall. There are no visible nails from top through stringer. All nails are
driven through 2x from under stairs. 3 Nails per step.
FC CM Stair Head height is correct. At minimum 6’8 inches in a plane diagonal line to stair header plumb.
FC CM Nosing not at top of stairs at first floor but is present and basement landing if stair case has a landing
FC CM Basement wall at basement landing is furred out with 2x material and wall is covered with insulation board or house
wrap. This depends on the space available.
FC CM Unfinished basement stair walls have 2x4 stud’s 16 inch OC on all 3 sides to close accessibility
FC CM Basement wall secured to floor with concrete nails and walls are plumb.
Finished Basement
FC CM Door opening plumb and marked with 2 inch over call size of door 2 inches taller

Daylight Walkout Basement
FC CM To the bottom of a daylight window there in not more than 42 inches to the opening.
FC CM 100% braced sheathing used. Wall must meet bracing requirements of 2008 IRC. This means consideration for full
4 foot sheets. Wall cannot be all windows. Proper nailing pattern of braced sheathing.
FC CM Sill sealer is located under exterior walls. Walls are bolted per the 2008 IRC 12” plate ends 6 ‘OC
FC CM Any stud distance from concerate wall & each step wall face will need to have concrete wall insulation installed.
Exterior
FC CM All horizontal seams flashed with house wrap a minimum of 6 inches hanging out
FC CM Holes and cuts in sheathing repair by tape or damaged sheathing replaced
FC CM Window tape install on 3 sides, 2 sides first and top last. Top must be even past the sides. No tape or sealer on
bottom.
FC CM Over hangs on home correct per print. Eyebrows installed per print
FC CM Windows correct per print and are in alignment
FC CM Exterior trim to be installed no closer to a shingled roof than 1 inch. Account for shingle thickness
FC CM All trim installed has the vertical ran past the horizontal at the intersections.
FC CM
All horizontal smart trim used in board and batten style application must be installed prior to MDF board and have
drip cap installed over the horizontal 5/4 trim board. Board batten panel is to be installed between the horizontals
with ¾ trim over MDF to create the vertical.
FC CM Azeck trim installed at under doors on basement homes
FC CM 1x2 trim installed at horizontal brick transitions
FC CM Window mantles install with Ice and water behind. Ice and water to extend 6 inches past sides and top and is taped
at top
FC CM House wrap install with overlaps of 6 inches horizontal and vertical
FC CM Vertical seams of house wrap need taped with correct brand seathing tape
FC CM House warp install on all inside & outside corners
FC CM House wrap install with cap nails no more that 32inch square
FC CM Raptor roof paper installed professionally verticle laps are to be a minimum of 4 inches, horizontal laps 6 inches,
cap nails at seams 12 inches OC 24 inch cap nails on seams.
FC CM Raptor paper to be installed to create a valley that sheds water by laps
FC CM Roofer to install roof edge under raptor at eaves and over paper gables. Plan nail placement accordingly
FC CM Roof less than 4/12 must have 2 layers of felt.
FC CM Exterior door trim to be taped as windows.
FC CM Exterior doors to be sat on rubber membrane that drapes to the exterior
FC CM Rubber membrane to be installed so after concrete is poured it will be between the concrete and the house
FC CM Gutter overhang or porch tiding back to verticle wall should have Ice & Water installed @ transition.
