HomeMy WebLinkAbout33-E-802 IdexxWSASTILM10 SECTION 26 24 20 PANELBOARDS -LIGHTING AND APPLIANCE A. Furnish and install cimuit breaker lighting and appliance panelboards as indicated in the cardboard schedules and as shown on the Drawings. Provide all circuit breaker devices and accessories as noted on the Drawings, herein specified, and as required. Short circuit ratings shall be as shown on the Drawings. B. Branch cirouit breakers shall be UL listed as SW D (switching duty) for single pole 15 and 20 ampere circuits. Branch circuit breakers feeding HVAC equipment shall be "HACR" rated. C. Panelboards for 208Y/120 volt, 3 phase, 4 wire service shall be Square D Type NQOD with Type "QOB" bolt on thermal magnetic molded case circuit breakers, (max. depth 5-3/4 inches). 10,000 or22,000 All as required. Dead front construction. D. Panelboards for 4801 volt, 3 phase, 4 wire service shall be Square D Type NF with Type "EDB or EGB" bolt on thermal magnetic molded case circuit breakers. (max. depth 5-3/4 inches). 18,000 or 35,000 All as required. Dead front construction. E. Panelboard boxes shall be sized to provide code gutters but to have minimum width of 20 inches and a maximum depth of 5-3/4 inches. Boxes for double tub panels shall be same size in height Boxes shall have sufficient wire bending space to accommodate conductor sizes as shown on the Drawings. F. Bus bare shall be copper and arranged and drilled for sequence phasing. Equipment ground bus shall be provided in each panelboard in addition to any neutral bus requirements. Bus to have same number, size, and type of anti -bum solderless lugs neutral assembly has. Ground bus to Be factory bonded to panelboard tub. Provide isolated ground bus, in addition to equipment ground bus, where noted on the Drawings. Provide full size neutral bus with suitable lugs for each outgoing feeder requiring a neutral connection. Provide 200%rated neutral bus in panelboards where indicated on the Drawings and schedules. G. Provide main breakers for panelboards of the type and class Indicated on the Drawings. Panelboards without main breakers are to be provided with solderless type incoming lugs suitable for either copper or aluminum conducrors sized to accommodate wiring as shown on the Drawings. H. Branch circuit breakers shall be thermal magnetic molded case with bolted bus connections and an over center, trip -free, toggle -type operating mechanism with quick -make, quick -break action and positive handle indication. I. Door and trim finish shall be man ufacturers standard lacquer or enamel except as follows: panels in corridors or other "exposed to public" locations shall receive prime coat only where specified on the Drawings or indicated on the panelboard schedules. Finish painting shall be by General Trades Contractor. J. Top of panelboard cabinets (box) shall be installed at 6'-0" above floor unless otherwise noted on the Drawings. Securely install panelboards to building walls. Panelboards mounted on perimeter outside walls shall be shimmed 1/2-inch from wall with washers to permit back ventilation. K. Furnish directory frames inside the door of each panel which shall contain a correct typewritten directory card, properly filled out to correspond to the circuit numbers on the Drawings and the room numbers of loads served. If mom numbers assigned by the Owner do not match the room numbers on the Drawings, both sets of room numbers must be cross-referenced and identified in the panel directory. Manufacturers shall be: Siemens Energy and Automation, Cutler -Hammer, General Electric. SECTION 26 27 13 COMMUNICATIONS AND POWER POLES A. Furnish and install Communication and Power Poles as shown on the Drawings and specified herein. Provide all accessories and equipment as necessary fora complete system. All equipment shall be UL listed and labeled and in accordance with applicable NEMA and ANSI Standards and NEC Article 380. B. Communication and Power Poles shall be ivory baked enameled with two compartments, one for power and one for low voltage communications wiring. C. Power compartment shall have three duplex, 20 Ampere, 120 wit grounding type specification Rode receptacles with stainless steel coverplates. Two receptacles shall be split wired; the third can remain as a duplex. D. Communications compartment shall accommodate up to 16 Category 6 Misted pair cables. E. Poles shall be furnished with entrance end fittings, stanchion base gripper pads, ceiling T bar "C" hanger assemblies, ceiling trim plates, adhesive pads and mounting hardware. F. Provide hanger assemblies and foot pads appropriate for the specific area where communication and power poles are to be installed. Manufacturers for Communications and Power Poles shall be: W iremold RELEASED FOR CONSTRUCTION Subject to compliance with all regulations of State and Local Codes City of Camel DATE: 03/15/19 SECTION 26 27 26 W IRING DEVICES AND PLATES A. Switches shall conform to NEMA Heavy Duty Standards and shall be specification grace, general use AC quiet type, 20 ampere, 120-277 volt, back and side wired with white handles, unless noted otherwise. Switches shown on the Drawings adjacent to doom with glass walls or windows shall actually be located in the door frame, unless noted otherwise. Switches shall be 20 ampere, 120-277 wit with white handles, end wired. B. LED Dimmers 1. Dimmers for LED luminaires shall be listed and tested for use on LED luminaires. C. All convenience and power receptacles shall conform to NEMA Heavy Duty Standards and shall be specification grade, grounding type. Convenience duplex receptacles shall be 20 ampere, 125 wit, beck and side wired, 3 wire grounding, UL listed as complying with the requirements of NEC Article 250.146, Exception #2, and NEMA 5-20R configuration. D. Ground -fault circuit interrupting duplex receptacles shall be 20 ampere, 125 volt "feed-thru" type, NEMA 5-20R configuration. Isolated ground receptacles shall be the same as convenience receptacles, except a solid banner of Insulation insulates the receptacle grounding circuit from the mounting strap. Color shall be white with an orange triangle on the lower face. E. Convenience and GFCI receptacles shall be white, unless on emergency power, in which case receptacles shall be red. F. Plates for flush devices in interior conditions shall be stainless steel. Plates forflush devices on concrete block walls shall match others but be "Jumbo" plates. Plates for voice/data communication boxes shall match wiring device plates in material, and be as specified in Section 27 05 29, "Voice/Data Communication Raceway System." Plates for devices in surface fittings shall be cadmium plated steel surface covers. Covers shall fit without overlap and have bound corners. Plates for future system outlets shall be blank plates matching device plates in quality and finish. G. W iring devices subject to wet locations while in use shall be provitletl with NEMA 3R cover assemblies UL listed for wet locations while in use. Cover assemblies shall use a vertically -lifting "canopy to protect the wiring device(s). Cover assemblies shall be standard size, one or two gang as required with gaskets between the hinged cover and mounting plate/base to assure proper seal. H. Ceiling mounted low voltage dual technology occupancy sensors shall contain both PIR and ultrasonic technologies, adjustable 15 second to 15 minute time delay, integrated adjustable light level sensor, adjustable sensitivities, LED indicator for both technologies, isolated relay, 24 VDC operable, 277 volt power pack, 1200 square feet- wide angle coverage. Watt Stopper DT-200L. Provide minimum one power pack for every room. Run neutral conductor to all dimmers. I. Occupancy sensor power packs shall be 277 volt primary with seff contained transformer and 20 amp relay contacts. Waft Stopper A277-E. J. Install wiring devices as indicated, in compliance with the manufacturers written instructions, applicable requirements of NEC and NECA's "Standard of Installation," and in accordance with recognized industry practices to fulfill project requirements. Delay installation of wiring devices and wall plates until after painting work is completed. Wiring devices may be installed prior to painting where protective plastic covers am used. K. Provide electrically continuous, tight grounding connections for wiring devices, as required by NEC Arlicle 250.146. Install device plates on all devices. Devices shown grouped on the Drawings shall be ganged together. L. Ceiling mounted ocwpricy sensors shall not be installed within 6 feet of a HVAC diffuser. Provide lens shields as required to prevent nuisance operation of occupancy sensors. Occupancy sensors to be set at maximum sensitivity and 15 minute time delay. Wiring between sensors and power packs shall be three conductor#18 AW G, stranded, U.L. classified and plenum rated where required. M. Wiring devices and plates shall be furnished by one of the manufacturers listed. No mixing of manufacturers products shall be Permitted unless otherwise noted herein or on the Drawings. Manufacturers for Wiring devices (except dimmers) and plates shall be: Arrow Hart, Pass and Seymour, Hubbell, Leviton Manufacturers for Dimmers, Plates, and Linear Slide Switches shall be: Lutron and Leviton Manufacturers for Occupancy sensors shall be: Novtas and W aftstopper SECTION 26 28 16 SAFETY SWITCHES A. Non -Fusible safety switches shall have heavy duty, single -throw, quick make, quick break, visible knife blade operators mounted in hinged cover steel enclosure. Lugs shall be listed for 75 degrees C ampacily aluminum or copper wire. Switches shall be clearly labeled for "ON" and "OFF" handle positions. Cover shall have defeatable safety interlock with handle to prevent inadvertent opening when in the "ON" position. Handle shall be pad lockable in the "OFF" position. B. Non -Fusible safety switches to be horsepower rated 600 volt AC and shall have ground lug kit and neutral when required. C. Fusible safety switches shall be as specified and with the following additional features: Safety switches rated 600 amperes and less shall have spring reinforced, plated fuse clips with rejection feature for Class R fuses, Safety switches rated larger than 600 amperes shall have provisions for Class L fuses, Short circuit interrupting rating shall be 200,000 amps RIMS symmetrical, Safety switches to be horsepower rated 240 volt AC for 208 or 240 volt usage, and 600 volt AC for 480 wit usage. D. Provide the following NEMA rated enclosure types in these locations: interior-1, exterior- 3R, kitchens - 4X, hazardous - 7. E. Use flexible conduit to and from safety switches where vibration isolation is required. Install safety switches securely to building stoctu re. Install safety switches on free- standing metal forming system support where mounting to building amour re is not feasible or where shown on the Drawings. Provide fusible type safety switches in elevator machine moms with auxiliary control power interlock switch on handle and connect to elevator battery release system. Provide fuses sized in accordance with equipment manufacturers data plate. Provide nameplates in accordance with Section 26 0553, "Electrical Identification." Touch up all scratches on enclosure after installation. Manufacturers shall be: Siemens Energy and Automation, General Electric, Culler -Hammer SECTION 26 29 13 MOTOR CONTROLLERS A. Fractional horsepower manual starters shall be toggle type quick-make/quick-break switch with double break silver alloy contacts, melting alloy type thermal overload relay, red pilot light, in flush or surface mounted with stainless steel cover plate and handle guardflockoff. B. All starter enclosure types shall be as follows: NEMA 1 - Gray baked enamel on galvanized steel, NEMA 3R -Gray baked enamel on galvanized steel with drain holes, NEMA 4X - Stainless steel with gasketed cover, NEMA 7 - Cast aluminum with bolted cover, sealing fiffings, cast on/off position indicators. C. Magnetic motor starters shall be across -the -line magnetic type with double break silver alloy contacts, molded coil and solid state type overload relay with phase loss protection. Starters shall have four (4) external field convertible auxiliary contacts. Refer to sequence of operation in Division 21/22/23 for type. D. Magnetic motor starters shall be 3 pole, 3 phase with solid state overload relays, 3 position hand -off -auto (H-O-A) switch, reset button, control power transformer with primary and secondary fusing, and green pilot light in NE MA rated enclosure. E. Two -speed starters shall be of the type required for the load served. Refer to Division 21/2223 specifications for motor type. Each starter shall have a speed selector switch with appropriate time delay relays in addition to above requirements. F. Combination motor stader/disconnect switches shall be across -the -line magnetic type with double break silver alloy contacts, molded coil, solid state overload relay with phase loss protection. Starters shall have four (4) external field convertible auxiliary contacts. Refer to sequence of operation in Division 21/22/23 for type. G. Combination motor starlendisconnect switches shall be 3 pole, 3 phase with solid state overload relays, three position hand -off -auto (H-O-A) switch, reset button, control power transformer with primary and secondary fusing, and green pilot light in NEMA rated enclosure. H. Combination motor starters shall have a visible blade disconnect switch with fuse Blocks. The disconnect handle used on combination motor starters shall always be in control of the disconnect device with the door opened or closed. The disconnect handle shall be clearly marked as to whether the disconnect device is "ON" or "OFF," and shall include a two-color handle grip, the black side visible in the "OFF" position indicating a safe condition and the red side visible in the "ON" position indicating an unsafe or danger condition. I. Motor locations shown on the Drawings are approximate. Obtain wool location of motors from Contractor installing the motor driven equipment. DO NOT ROUGH -IN BY SCALING THE ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS. Final connections to equipment shall be made using liquid -tight flexible steel conduit. SECTION 26 51 13 LIGHTING FIXTURES, LAMPS AND BALLASTS A. Furnish and install luminaires, LED modules, and drivers as herein specified and shown on the Drawings. B. LED luminaire shall be modular in design with the ability to replace individual components without having to replace the entire luminaire, C. LED luminaire shall have a minimum CRI of 80. D. Unless specifically indicated otherwise per the luminaire schedule, all LED lamp colors shall be 4000K. E. LED driver shall have a rated life of a minimum of 50,000 hours. F. Luminaires located in gypsum board (drywall) or plaster ceilings shall have appropriate plaster rings provided with each luminaire. G. Luminaires shall be provided with all required mounting hardware for a complete installation. H. Luminaires shall be securely mounted to elements of the building structure such that they will be square, plumb, and rigid and will not fall or sag. Flush luminaires shall be furnished with installation provisions compatible with the suspended acoustical system to mi shed by the General Trades Contractor. This Contractor shall verify the actual suspension system to be used and make all adjustments in luminaire Installation provisions. J. All surface mounted and recessed luminaires installed in suspended acoustical tile ceilings, shall have a supplemental support means attached to the building structure consisting of chain or cable, installed with 6 inches of slack. This support means shall be attached from the structure to the luminaire at each end and shall be capable of suspending the luminaire in the event the ceiling grid at the luminaire is removed. K. Designated night light, emergency egress, and exit signage luminaires shall be connected ahead of any switching.
