Mr. Campbell,
Based on the description and attachments provided, your project is EXEMPT from filing with the State of
Indiana DHS Plan Review Section in accordance with 675 IAC 12-6-4.
I have found from your latest submittal that the total partitions added are less than 100 lineal feet. Also
found in your submittal that there are no plumbing changes and no fire sprinkler changes that exceed the
exemption criteria.
The statutes that apply to the exemption are as follows:
675 IAC 12-6-4 Exemptions from design release requirement

and similar finish work, including replacement or reglazing of glass.
(B) Cases, counters, and partitions not over six (6) feet in height.
(C) Penetrations of nonfire-rated exterior walls where the width of the opening:
(i) does not exceed six (6) feet; and
(ii) is not for a required exit.
(D) Installation of one (1) or more nonload-bearing partitions not to exceed a total of one hundred (100)
lineal feet
in length provided it is not part of a corridor or a partition that is required to be of fire-resistive
construction.

as defined in 675 IAC 13, including:

James
I sent you new information yesterday . If the lineal footage is too much for a release letter.
The owner said we could remove closet in front of electrical panel drawing B and if we need more taken

Mr. Campbell,
The work may be exempt but I need a bit more information.
The plan is not dimensioned in detail, can you show there is less than 100 lineal feet of partition added and that none of
it is required to be of fire resistive construction or part of a corridor.
Is there any casework or cabinetry that exceeds 6’‐0” in height?
Does the electrical circuitry exceed the capacity of the original distribution system?
Extent of mechanical work.
Any fire sprinkler work? Does it exceed 20 heads?
These are some of the criteria found in the 675 IAC 12‐6‐4 Exemptions from design release requirements.
