2.01 ISOLATION VALVE AND LATERAL ASSEMBLY VALVES
1.ISOLATION VALVE SHALL BE HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE (HDPE) 100% FULL PORT QUARTER TURN
BALL VALVE MADE OF PE4710 RESIN WITH CELL CLASSIFICATION 445574C IN ACCORDANCE WITH
ASTM D3350.
2. THE VALVE SHALL BE SUITABLE FOR USE UP TO 200 PSI.
3.THE VALVE OPERATION SHALL BE 1/4 TURN CLOCKWISE USING A 2" SQUARE NUT.
4.THE VALVE SHALL BE COMPATIBLE FOR HEAT FUSION WITH SIMILAR HDPE PIPE AND MATERIALS.
5.VALVE SHALL BE MARKED WITH THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:
a) NOMINAL PIPE SIZE
b) TYPE PLASTIC MATERIAL-PE4710
c) PIPE PRESSURE RATING
d) MANUFACTURER'S NAME, TRADEMARK AND CODE
6.VALVES SHALL BE MANUFACTURED BY GEORG FISCHER CENTRAL PLASTICS, OR APPROVED EQUAL.
2.02 CHECK VALVES:
1.SMALL DIAMETER SWING CHECK VALVES SHALL BE 200 PSI RATED, 316 STAINLESS STEEL, AS
MANUFACTURED BY DURACHOICE. CHECK VALVES SHALL BE LOCATED WITHIN ONE FOOT OF THE
SHUT-OFF VALVE WHICH IS LOCATED WITHIN ONE FOOT OF THE PRESSURE MAIN.

2.08 LOCATION/TRACER WIRE:
1.DIRECTIONAL TRACER WIRE SHALL BE #10-AWG SOLID, COPPER-CLAD STEEL CORE (11,150 LB.
AVERAGE TENSILE BREAK LOAD) WITH 45 MIL HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE "GREEN" COLOR
INSULATING JACKET COMPLYING WITH ASTM D1248, 30 VOLT RATING. THE WIRE SHALL BE
CONTINUOUS WITH NO FABRICATED OR FIELD CONSTRUCTION CONNECTIONS INTERRUPTING THE
WIRES CONTINUITY FROM END TO END. WIRE INSULTATION SHALL BE HIGHLY RESISTANT TO ACIDS,
ALKALIS, AND OTHER DESTRUCTIVE SUBSTANCES FOUND IN SOIL.
2.TRACER WIRE SHALL BE AS MANUFACTURED BY COPPERHEAD INDUSTRIES, LLC, OR APPROVED
EQUAL.
3.TRACER WIRE SPLICE KITS SHALL BE LOCKING SNAKEBITE CORROSION PROOF WIRE CONNECTION
AS MANUFACTURED BY COPPERHEAD INDUSTRIES, LLC OR APPROVED EQUAL.
2.09 TRACER WIRE STATION:
1.PIPELINE TRACER WIRE STATIONS WITH ACCESS TO RECEIVE TRACER WIRE SHALL BE LOCATED
ALONG THE SEWAGE FORCEMAIN ROUTE AS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS. ADDITIONAL STATIONS MAY
BE INSTALLED AS REQUIRED DUE TO RECEIVING PIT LOCATIONS DURING CONSTRUCTION. TRACER
STATIONS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED OF SUPERIOR GRADE PVC PLASTIC MATERIAL, SCHEDULE 40, 6"
DIAMETER, WITH LID. "SEWER" SHALL BE CLEARLY PRINTED ON THE LID. LID SHALL BE OF CAST IRON
(ASTM A4B CLASS-25B) MODEL VB-284 (VB-2841S) AS MANUFACTURED BY SIGMA CORPORATION OR
APPROVED EQUAL.
2.TRACER STATION SHALL BE INSTALLED FLUSH WITH FINISH GRADE AND LOCATED OVER PIPE LINE
TO WHICH TRACER LEAD IS ATTACHED.
3. LOCATION WIRE SHALL BE LOOPED UP INTO TRACER STATIONS, AND ISOLATION VALVE BOXES, FOR
CONNECTION TO A LOCATING DEVISE (MAXIMUM 800' OF FORCEMAIN BETWEEN TRACER
STATIONS/VALVE BOXES AND EACH SIDE OF LEGAL DRAIN). THE WIRE SHALL BE ONE CONTINUOUS
PIECE FROM END TO END.
4.CONTRACTOR SHALL TEST TRACER WIRE USING OWNER'S LOCATING DEVICE AFTER INSTALLATION
OF PIPE TO ENSURE CONTINUITY FROM END TO END. IF TRACER WIRE IS FOUND NOT TO BE
CONTINUOUS AFTER TESTING, CONTRACTOR SHALL REPAIR OR REPLACE THE FAILED SEGMENT OF
THE WIRE AT HIS OWN EXPENSE.
3.16 TESTING (HDPE PIPE)
1.ALL NEW HDPE SANITARY SEWER FORCEMAIN SHALL BE HYDROSTATIC TESTED TO ENSURE WATER
TIGHTNESS AND INTEGRITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM F2164 "STANDARD PRACTICE FOR FIELD
LEAK TESTING OF POLYETHYLENE (PE) PRESSURE PIPING SYSTEMS USING HYDROSTATIC
PRESSURE".
2.THE OWNER SHALL WITNESS ALL TESTS.
