PROJECT GENERAL NOTES
1. ALL TRADES ARE ADVISED THAT INFORMATION PERTINENT TO
THEIR WORK MAY OCCUR IN OTHER PORTIONS OF THE CONTRACT
DOCUMENTS AS APPLICABLE. REFER TO STRUCTURAL,
PLUMBING, MECHANICAL, AND ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS FOR
ADDITIONAL GENERAL NOTES, ABBREVIATIONS, AND SYMBOLS,
ALL NOTES ARE TO BE REVIEWED AND APPLIED TO RELATED
BUILDING COMPONENTS. NOTES APPEAR ON VARIOUS SHEETS
FOR DIFFERENT SYSTEMS AND MATERIALS, SHEETS ARE TO BE
REVIEWED AND NOTES ON ANYONE SHEET ARE TO BE
APPLIEDON RELATED DRAWINGS AND DETAILS.
2. DO NOT SCALE THE DRAWINGS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
VERIFY ALL CONDITIONS AND DIMENSIONS PRIOR TO THE
STARTOF CONSTRUCTION, IF DISCREPANCIES ARE FOUND,
THE ARCHITECT SHALL BE NOTIFIED FOR CLARIFICATION BEFORE
COMMENCING THE WORK.
3. DETAILS NOT REFERENCED ARE SIMILAR IN CHARACTER TO
THOSESHOWN, WHERE SPECIFIC DIMENSIONS, DETAILS OR
DESIGN INTENT CANNOT BE DETERMINED, CONSULT THE
ARCHITECT BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK.
4. FINISH FLOOR ELEVATIONS ARE TO TOP OF CONCRETE,
UNLESS OTHERWISENOTED.
5. ALL FIRE-RESISTIVE(LABELED) DOORS SHALL HAVE THE
APPROPRIATE UL OR OTHER RATING AGENCY LABEL,
ACCEPTABLE TO AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION, AFFIXED
TOBOTHDOOR ANDFRAME. LABELS SHALL REMAIN INTACT AND
VISIBLE. DO NOT PAINT OVER OR REMOVE LABEL.
6. ALL RECESSED ITEMS LOCATED IN FIRE -RATED WALLS SHALL
BE INSTALLED MAINTAINING FIRE -RATED CONSTRUCTION.
]. ALL DAMAGED EXISTING WORK MUST BE REPAIRED AND
PREPARED TO RECEIVE NEW FINISHES.
8. NEW WORK SHOWN ALIGNED WITH EXISTING MUST BE SMOOTH
AND FLUSH. REWORK OR REPLACE EXISTING AS REQUIRED TO
ACHIEVE THIS RESULT.
9, RESTORE THE INTEGRITY OF EXISTING PARTITIONS, WHERE
PREVIOUS DEMOLITION OCCURRED OR AS A RESULT OF NEW
CONSTRUCTION.
10. COORDINATE ACCESS PANELS WITH THE ARCHITECT PRIOR TO
CONSTRUCTION. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL ACCESS
DOORS OR PANELS REQUIRED COORDINATE WITH MEP DWGS.
11. REPAIR OR REPLACE ALL DAMAGE TO THE EXISTING FLOOR,
INCLUDING REMOVAL OF EXISTING CONDUT, PIPING, AND DUCT
PENETRATIONS NOT REQUIRED IN THE NEW CONSTRUCTION.
12, DUST PROOF PARTITIONS& RELATED PROTECTIONS ERECTED
DURING DEMOLITION OPERATIONS SHALL REMAIN IN PLACE
FOR THE DURATION OF THE CONSTRUCTION UNLESS
OTHERWISE INSTRUCTED BY THE OWNER.
13. PROVIDE FIRE STOPPING AT ALL EXISTING RATED ASSEMBLIES
(FLOOR/ CEILING) PENETRATIONS, GC TO FIRESTOP ALL RATED
PENETRATIONS AT THE END OF EACH DAY.
14. ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS INDICATE DEVICE LOCATIONS
ONLY, REFER TO MEP & COMMUNICATIONS DRAWINGS FOR OTHER
REQUIREMENTS.
15. SET ALL DEVICES FLUSH WITH ANY APPLIED WALL FINISH.
SEE FINISH PLAN FOR LOCATION AND TYPE.
16. CONTRACTOR SHALL PATCH AND/ OR LEVEL ALL EXISTING
SURFACES RECEIVING NEW FINISHES,
11. PROVIDE CONTINUOUS STEEL PLATE, STUD AND/OR WOOD
BLOCKING WITHIN WALL (PARTITION TYPE) AT ALL
ACCESSORIES, CABINETRY, WALL -MOUNTED SHELVING, TOILET
PARTITIONS, MONITORS, IV'S AND ANY WALL MOUNTED
EQUIPMENT LOCATIONS, WHEN EQUIPMENT IS TO BE LOCATED
ATEXISTING PARTITIONS, CONTRACTORTO REMOVE EXISTING
FINISHES AS REQUIRED TO PROVIDE BLOCKING AS SPECIFIED.
18. GC TO FLASH PATCH AS NECESSARY TO PROVIDE A SMOOTH
SURFACE TO RECEIVE ALL FLOORING PRODUCTS. THE ENTIRE
FLOOR SHALL BE CLEANED WITH A FLOOR POLISHING MACHINE
WITH A SCREEN TO REMOVE TROWEL MARKS AND DEBRIS
PRIOR TO FLOORING INSTALLATION.
19. WHEN NEW MEP ITEMS ARE TO BE RUN OUTSIDE CONTRACT
LIMIT LINE, GC IS RESPONSIBLE TO INVESTIGATE EXISTING
CONDITIONSIN ORDER TO PROVIDE ACCESS& PROPER
SUPPORT FOR ALL NEW ITEMS. REFER TO MEP OWES FOR
MORE INFO.
20. CONTRACTORSHALL FOLLOW MANUFACTURER'S PRINTED
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS, DETAILS AND
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PROPER INSTALLATION OF
MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND FINISHES.
21. CONTRACTOR TO INDICATE WALL LAYOUT IN CHALK PRIOR TO
CONSTRUCTION.
22. CONTRACTOR SHALL INCLUDE ALL COSTS FOR REPAIRS AND
REPLACEMENT OF WALLS CEILINGS AND FLOORS TO
ACCOMPLISH ELECTRIC, PLUMBING AND MECHANICAL WORK,
CONTRACTOR SHALL PATCH AND MATCH EXISTING AND
MATERIAL IN KIND.
23. ALL WORK ON OTHER FLOORS REQUIRED AS A RESULT OF THE
WORK INDICATED IN THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS SHALL
BE CONSIDERED PART OF THE WORK OF THIS PROJECT,
COORDINATE ALL LOCATIONS AND INSTALLATION DETAILS OF
WORK WITH THE ARCHITECTURE LAYOUT.
24. GC TO COORDINATE AND REVIEW EXISTING CONDITION FOR
FLOORS BELOW & ABOVE.
25. PROVIDE A SINGLE LAYER OF N4" FIRE -RETARDANT -TREATED
PLYWOOD, 24' TO 96' AFF AT ALL COMM AND DATA ROOMS,
PAINT TO MATCH WALL.
26. PIPING LOCATED ABOVE GRADE AND INSIDE THE BUILDING
SHALL BE CONCEALED IN FURRED SPACES WITH THE
EXCEPTIONOF PIPING IN STAIRWAYS, EQUIPMENT ROOMS,
SHELL SPACES AND MEP SUPPORT SPACES. THECONTRACTOR
SHALL COORDINATE WITH OTHERTRADES TO PROVIDE
FURRING FOR PIPING INSTALLEDIN FINISHEDAREAS.
21. CAULK AT JUNCTURE OF INTERIOR FACES OF DOOR FRAMES,
VIEW WINDOW FRAMES, EXTERIOR WINDOW FRAMES,
CABINET WORK AND CASEWORK WITH ADJACENT MATERIALS
EVEN THOUGHJOINT MAYNOTBEVISIBLE.
28, ALL COMMUNICATIONS (DATA AND TELEPHONE) CABLING TO BE
PROVIDED BY A VENDOR SELECTED BY OWNER. THE
CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COMMUNICATION
SYSTEM BACKBONE (I E, BACKBOXES AND CONDUIT, CABLE
TRAYS, RACKS PUNCH DOWN BLOCKS, ETC.). THAT MAY BE
REOD. COMMUNICATION VENDORS WILL RUN WIRE, AND
PROVIDE THE FINAL TERMINATIONS, TESTING, AND SET
EQUIPMENT.
29, AT ALL MED GAS ROOMS, PROVIDE CHAIN WI EYE HOOK EVERY
4'41' O.C. TO SECURE MED GAS BOTTLES.
