Stu,
Thank you for the additional clarifications. Based on the information and attachments that you have
provided, the project does qualify as “Exempt” as per Indiana statute 675 IAC 12-6-4 “Exemptions from
design release requirement”. The project will not need to be filed until Phase 2 is ready for
construction.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Stu,
Thank you for the inquiry. I just have a couple of questions before we can reach a decision on an
exemption.
Roughly, how long will the empty shell space remain unfinished, or is that unknown? Relatively soon,
the purpose is to get the admin portion into the space and then bring the remaining office personnel
over.
You mention that the building is fully sprinklered with an operating alarm system. Will the systems
remain unaltered until Phase 2? Any alterations to the systems will require submittal of revised plans
to Plan Review. I have been informed by the tenant that the fire sprinkler and alarm system will remain
intact the way it is and only modified as a part of filing for phase II.
Also, as an FYI, you indicate an interior bi-parting door, which is acceptable for this preliminary work,
but may or may not conform to exiting requirements in Phase 2. Agreed, Phase II will require a full
submittal to the state and based upon exist requirements, the current doors may not be allowed.
