Special Use Application for Herman D. and Judith R.
Sierzputowski and Mary B. Smith and their property
located in the 900 block, on the west side of North
Range Line Road, just north the Smith Funeral Home,
Carmel . Petitioners are requesting special use
approval to change the natural grade of both parcels
through fill and excavation and to improve the channel
of the existing creek. Both parcels are zoned B-2 .

Developmental Standards Sign Variance Application for
Duke Associates and their property located at 502 East
96th Street, Indianapolis . Petitioners are requesting
variances from sections 25 . 7 . 02, 25 . 7 . 04-1 .a(ii) , and
25 . 7 . 04-1 .a(vi) of the Carmel/Clay Zoning/Sign
Ordinance to 1) allow the logo on two (2) wall signs to
exceed 25% of the defined sign area, 2) increase the
maximum number of identification signs from one to four
and 3 ) to permit the subject signs to be different in
lighting, color and construction as those existing
within this unified center, respectively. Parcel is
zoned B-6 and has committed to ADLS review and approval
from the Carmel/Clay Plan Commission .

The public hearing was opened at 8 : 13 P.M.
Mr. Philip Nicely, Attorney, 8888 Keystone Crossing,
Indianapolis, made the presentation, a copy of which is on file
at the Carmel Department of Community Development .
A overall development site plan, detailed plan of the
development, elevation of building facing I465 and elevation of
building facing 96th Street .
Mr. Joe Yaeger, Sr. Vice President of Indiana Insurance Company
was present .
Ms . Pat Jenkins, 9608 Carrollton, asked questions if this was
going to end up looking like Castleton with all the lights coming
through their bedroom windows . Did the people in Hamilton County
along 96th Street get notice of this variance request? Are these
signs going to be continually lit?
