NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Carmel Board of Zoning Appeals Hearing Officer
will conduct a meeting on the 26h day of August, 2019 at 5:30 p.m., at Carmel City Hall Caucus
Room, 1 Civic Square, 2nd Floor, 46032, to hold a Public Hearing regarding the application
identified by the Docket Number referenced above (the “Variance”).
The real estate made subject of the Variance is commonly known as 14350 Oak Ridge
Road, is identified by Hamilton County, Indiana Auditor’s Office as Tax Parcel Identification
Number 17-09-23-02-05-010.000 and is described as Lot 134 in the Village of Mt. Carmel,
Section 5 (the “Real Estate”). Enclosed is an aerial photograph of the Real Estate.
The Applicant is seeking approval to allow the installation of a thirty-six foot (36’)
section of an eight foot (8’) fence on a portion of the north property line of the Real Estate as
shown by the enclosed diagram. The Real Estate is zoned S2/Residence.
The Applicant is seeking a development standards variance approval from the City of
Carmel’s Zoning Ordinance, Section 5.09.C, which states a fence may only be six feet (6’) tall.
A copy of the Variance request that is described above and the accompanying plan is on
file for examination at the Department of Community Services, Carmel City Hall, One Civic
Square, Carmel, IN 46032, telephone 317/571-2417.
All interested persons desiring to present their views on the proposed Variance, either in
writing or verbally, will be given an opportunity to be heard at the above-mentioned time and
place. Written comments filed with the Department of Community Services prior to or at the
Public Hearing will be considered, and oral comments will be heard at the Public Hearing. The
Public Hearing may be continued from time to time as may be found necessary.
