Carmel Street Department made the request after reviewing the project on site with
electrician and irrigation subcontractors. Email stating request attached.
3. APPROXIMATE COST CHANGE TO CONTRACT PRICE: Add $5,614.00

Hello Brad,
I wanted to touch base with you reference the three RAB's currently under construction( Main, 126th,and 136th
and Gray Road)? I know your working on a solution to the P1 problem but in the mean time who is working on these
issues?I should first clarify if this is your project and if not can you direct me to the right individual for discussion please?
The only information I have is that Smock Fansler is the GC and Barthuly is doing the irrigation.The Street Department
hasn't been forwarded any other information on these RAB areas?I did find out that there is lightning being planned for
these areas and I believe the lightning packages are ordered?This is where the project gets interesting,where are we
going to mount the equipment in the current P1 cabinets? I have attached pictures of all three P1 cabinets in question
and they are all different?There currently aren't enough outlets, NO mounting plates for equipment,with the
Communications Rack installed can we get everything in the current cabinet at Main and Gray?These are all questions
that will be put in our lap to answer when installation is started?Some of the contractors feel it's our responsibility to
have the cabinets ready for them to install there equipment and when they aren't ready we get dinged for change
orderers! I personally have a hard time paying twice for things that should have been completed with the initial
installation,there are times where changes need to be made that's normal but in this case all three P1 cabinets need
attention and upgrades?
The project hasn't been released to the Street Department however, I am the one starting to get phone calls about
water tap locations as one example.When doing a pre inspection to get a handle on the progress with construction
that's when I starting finding issues?It would appear that weather is starting to slow things down which means in the
Spring everyone is going to be making up for lost time and there will be delays if we don't address some of these issues
sooner rather than later. Please let me know your thoughts please?

Thank you for the update Joe. I defiantly would agree that on this project information has been less than available!
am not pointing the finger at anyone and I am not trying to indicate your behind at all. I just feel it's my job to protect
the City's interest with the irrigation and now lighting that is being installed on ever new project?My biggest concern is
the Main and Gray P1?Communication doesn't have any equipment installed yet and usually all fits into their rack(see
attached Photo. I need two(2) plugs one outlet for irrigation, landscape lightning has three (3)component's that needs
power, plugging into a four(4)gang outlet doesn't work as well as having 2 single outlets,the plugs have different
power supplies and they don't fit as well, I am sure Scott has a remedy? If you review the picture there isn't a lot of
room?They have the main power feed on the right side of the cabinet and no mounting plate?We have four pretty
good size components to be installed?This is the same issue we had on the Keystone RAB project? Scott installed two
new P1 cabinets on Hazel Dell and they were correct. I can discuss with Scott Apple but I think we need another sub
cabinet if you will mount on the back of this P1 similar to what we had to do at 136`h and Keystone?Even if we cram
everything in this cabinet at some point maintenance has to be considered. That means power has to be feed through
the existing P1 cabinet along with all the irrigation control wire etc.? I try to help bring these issues to the table in
advance when I know about them to avoid all the up charges and changes. I haven't heard a word from Scott and I know
from experience that if it's an extra task it's an additional charge and I understand that, but to my knowledge he hasn't
seen the application sites?Assuming that they are all the same is a big mistake in Carmel as you well know. I also
wanted to make sure that there was at least one GFI outlet somewhere in the center of the RAB?I haven't seen any
prints but observation tells me you're putting up walls of some sort? Let me know what I can do to help remedy some
of these issues.
I talked to the water department and they are coordinating with me the tap for 136th and Gray RAB,supposed to dig
one day and tap the next just not sure of which day FYI?

I have made modifications to 136 and Gray and 126 and Gray P1 cabinets so Apple electric should be able to install
their landscaping lighting equipment in both those locations.We will however need additional electrical outlets at both
of these locations? I have attached a photo for Main and Gray with the dimensions for two additional mounting plates,
12x20 and 20x30. It'll be a little tight but I believe the irrigation components can mount on the 12 x 20 mounting plate
and the landscape lighting should mount on the 20 x 30 mounting plate?We may also need an additional outlet in this
P1. Hopefully this makes Things a little easier to deal with and save Scott from making a trip up here to take a look at the
cabinets. If I can be of any other assistance please don't hesitate to let me know? If I need to meet anyone on site let me
know as well.
