1. The work required under this section Includes all exterior concrete and bituminous paving and related
items necessary to compete Me work indicated on drawings and described in Me specifications,
imposing but not limited to:
NI hives, parking areas within contract limit
Curbs and gamble
Sidewalks, concrete gabs, exterior steps
B. MATERIALS
L Compact Concrete shall be ready -mixed and small be a mix of propermaned fine and coaree
aggregates with Portland comet and water. Minimum cement content shall be 6 begs per cubic yard
of concrete and maximum water content shall be 5.5 U.S. gallons per sack of cement including
maslure in Me aggregate. Slump far normal weight concrete shall be a maximum of 4 inches and a
minimum of 2 Inches. The slump of machine placed concrete shall be no less Man 1-114 inches or more
Man 3 inches. Standard test ASTM G143 shall be used to measure slump. Minimum compressive

C. APPLICATION

EARTHWORK
A. SCOPEOFWORK
1, Export The work required under his section consists of all excavating, filling, rough grating and related items
necessary to compete Me work indicated on Me drawings and described in the specifications. The Contractor shall
notify in wn6ng de Owners and de Engineer of any changes, enure, or omissions found on de pans or in the figs
before work is started or resumed.
a. In general Me Items of work to be performed under this section shall include Gearing and grubbing, removal
of trees and stamps (where required), protection of trees b remain, strippng and storage of broad, fill,
compaction and rough grating of entire site as indicated on Me drawings.
b Excavated material that is suitable may be used for fill. All unsuitable makinal and all surplus excavated
makenal not required shall be removed from the site by the Contractor. The location of sump and length of
haul Shall be the Commodore responeibtiily.
c. Provide and place any summeral fill makers! fron off Me site as may be necessary to pmduca this gentles
required. Fill obtained from affiit shall be of Kind and quality as Marfiatl heron, and as approved by Me
Engineers Owner.

B. BENCHMARKS

C. REMOVALOFTREES
1. Remove all trees and stumps from area to be attempted by maxi and surfaced areas. Removal of trees outside
Mesa areas shall only be doe as noted on drawings cr approved by Me Owner.
2. All brush, stamps, aided and other ri from the trees smell be removed from the site or burned with proper
pertnes (where applicable).
D. PROTECTION OF TREES

E. STRIPPING OF TOPSOIL
1. Remove topsoil to a depth of 6 inches (or as indicated by Owners Geokecbnical Engineer) from the areas to be

with construction operaions. Top soil shall be reasonably free from subsoil, debris and sones larger than 2 inches.
F. DISPOSITION OF UTILITIES
1. Rules and regulations governing Me respective utilities shall be observed in executing all wok under his section.
2. It shall be Me responsibility of each contractor to verify all existing utilities and conditions pertaining to his phase of
Me work. It Mail be Me contractor's responsibility to contact Me owners of Me various utilities before work is

3. Where active utilities are encountered but not shown on Me drawings, Me Contractor shall notify Me Utility

4. Inactive and abandoned utilities encountered in excavating and gracing operations shall be relearned to Me

G. SITEGRADING

All fill material shall be formed from soil free of cadences material. Prior 0 placement of fill, a sample of the

content.
