Do not operate new HVAC systems until drywall smdng is complete and primed and jobshe dust is no

Contractor shall install his work in a manner that will cordon with the structure. Contractor shall avoid
obstrucfions, preserve head room and maintain maximum dearance without additional cog to the
Owner.
All dimensions shown on these plans are in feet safer inches unless otherwise noted.
Mechanical work shall be complete in every deal and all miscellaneous items of material and labor
necessary to complete the work described, shown or reasonably implied an drawings or specifications

Coordinate construction of all mechanical work with Architectural Structural, Civil, Elucldcal
work etc., shown on other contract document drawings.
Each respective contactor shall be responsible for coordinating the installation of his work
with the work of other contractors and trades prior to the installation.
Maintain a minimum of 6 T clearance to underside of pipes, ducts conduits, suspended
equipment, Md., throughout access homes in mecharked mans.
All tests shall be complied before any mechanical equipment or piping insulation is
appled.
Locate all temperature, pressure, and flow measuring devices in accessible locations with
straight section of pipe or dud up and downstream an recommended by the Manufacturer
fa appropriate accuracy.
Work shall include stadup of all systems, furnishing of operating and maintenance
instdc ens and one (1) year guarantee, commencing on date of acceptance by the Owner
or as otherwise specified.
Testing, adjusting, and balancing agency shall be by a member of the Associated Air
Enhance Council (AABC) or the National Environmental Madding Bureau (NEBB). Testing,
adjusting, and balancing shall be performed in accordance with the AABC standards.
Where two or more items of the same type of equipment are required, the product of one
Manufacturer shall be used unless otherwise noted

Equipment sizes, weights, power, geometry and service space requirements may vary between

If I SHEETMETAL:
Certain items such as rises and drops in ductwork access doors, volume dampers sic., are
i arrested on the contact document drawings for daily fora specific location requirement and
shall not be interpreted as the extent of the requirements for these items.
All dudwork dimensions, as shown on the drawings, are internal clear cimensms.
Keep all ductwork duct system and equipment openings covered with adhesive do protective
wrap like VeduneTape 1512, until system start-up. This is to prevent intrusion of construction
rid and debris into the dud system and HVAC equipment.
Provide flexible connections in all ductwork systems (supply, room, and exharsh connected to
affecting units, fare, and other equipment which require vibration isolation. Flexible
connections shall be provided at the pant of connection to the equipment unless otherwise
noted
Unless otherwise noted, all dudwak is overhead, tight to the underside of the structure, with
space for insulation at below my required piping.

Smoke defectors shall be furnished by Unit Manufacturer and wired by the Elednbal Contractor.
The Mechanical Contractor shall be responsible for mounting the smoke detector in ductwork as
Mom on the drawings and in accordance with Manufacturers printed instructions.

Power for all rooftop units shall be wired by the Electrical Contractor and shall be placed m a

Provide companion opposed blade volume dampers with all diffusers mounted in drywall ceilings.
Do not provide companion volume dampers with dffusers mounted in lay�in file ceilings. Provide
manual volume dampers in the branch ducts serving diffusers labeled above lay -in file ceilings.
Diffusers, registers, and grilles mounted in drywall ceilings shall have plaster names

Mechanical Contractor shall famish and instal a 3"xTx3/6" steel angle name around each moll
unit roof opening. Fidd weld names to top of joists.
Locate rooftop units as mot so that the dud drops will clear the roof structure.
Refer to Mechanical Cast Sheets for addtimal eghipment requirements.
Phenolk dud by Pat Did or Kool-Dud is an acceptable aflemative to sheetmetal dud and
insulation in concealed spaces. Use flanged jams Submit detaled dud drawings fa engineer
review.
RELATED ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING:
Unless otherwise noted all low village will (24 rots) shall be prodded and installed by the
Mechanical Contractor. The includes fans, radiant heaters, rooftop units, etc.
Unless otherwise noted line voltage wiring (120 vote or greater) shall be provided and installed by
the Electrical Contractor Wring should be concealed at all times unless dhermse noted an the
plans Contact the Engineer if concealment is not possible.
All central wire and conduit shall comply with the National Electric Code (NEC) and Division 16/26 of
the specifications
Condensate drain pipe rim oho shall be full size to the nearest drain. Refer to "P" sheets fa reading
Coordinate installatm of gas piping for HVAC units with Plumbing Contactor.
Fumish and install a gas cock at each unit connection.
Refer to dectrical and plumbing drawings for addtional coordination with these drawings.
My unit supplied with natural or LP gas shall be funished with pressure regulators by Unit
Manufacturer.
APPEARANCE:
All equipment should be installed with great regard to a neat finished produce.
Whenever possible, ending should be routed in such a way as to minimize videlty.
Piping shouts be tight to structure whenever possible, and orthogonal.
Eliminate the need fa condensate pumps if possible.
Contact the Engineer prior to installing any equipment that will not be able to be instaled in
a read, fiat class manner, consistent with the Manufacture's installation instructions.
Unless olherwdse noted flashing of mot openings will be dome by the General Contractor.
Deliver mottop unit and exhaust fan curbs to General Contractor for installation. Contact
General Contactor to coordinate this portion of the work
Concrete housekeeping pads to suit mechanical equpment shall be sized and labeled by
the Mechanical Contracted. Minimum concrete paid thickness shall be 312'unless
otherwise noted. Pad shall extend beyond the equipment a minimum of 6 on each side.
Concrete housekeeping pads shall beprovided by the Mechanical Contractor. Itshallbe
the responsibility of the Mechanical Connadorto coordinate size and location of concrete
housekeeping pads with the General Contractor.
Exterior louvers are indicated for information only. Louver sizes, locations, and details shall
be coordinated with the General Contractor.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Cost of any changes required by this, or othertrades, caste substitution of equipment other
than the basis of design, shall be well in the Mechanical Commodore proposal.
UTILITIES:
Unless otherwise noted the local gas company shall provide gas to the building and furnish
and install the meter. Conn fmon to the meterard extension of the Piping shall be made in
accordance with the uiliry company requirements.
Contact local utility company to amarge for gas meter installation. Famish and install Piping
and cascades as required to receive memo.
Verify local conetims al the site.
RELATED CONTROLS:
Unless otherwise noted locate all man thermostats and humidisats 4-Gr (cadedba)
above finish floor Notify the Engineer prior to installation of any rooms where the above
location cannel be maintained or where there is a question on location.
All corfirol will and related contact components should be concealed unless otherwise
noted an the plans. Contact the Engineer 0 concealment is not possible.
