DECONSTRUCTION NOTES
FIRE PROTECTION NOTES
I. THE MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING SCOPES OF WORK ARE LIMITED TO
BASIC DESIGN -BUILD ALTERATIONS WHICH ARE OUTLINED IN THESE PLANS. THE
DESIGN -BUILD CONTRACTORS FOR EACH TRADE MUST NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT IF THEY
FIND THAT THE SCOPE OF WORK EXCEEDS THE LEVEL OF MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL OR
PLUMBING WORK INDICATED ON THESE DRAWINGS SO THAT ANY NECESSARY
ENGINEERING CAN OCCUR AND ADDITIONAL PLANS CAN BE FILED, OR IF ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION IS NEEDED IN ORDER TO DO THE WORK IN THE FIELD. THE MECHANICAL,
ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING DESIGN -BUILD CONTRACTORS SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL
APPLICABLE STATE AND LOCAL BUILDING CODES, FIRE SUPPRESSION AND FIRE ALARM
SYSTEMS SHALL BE INSTALLED BY THE APPROPRIATE DESIGN -BUILD CONTRACTOR AND
MUST COMPLY WITH ALL APPLICABLE STATE AND LOCAL BUILDING CODES. FIRE
SUPPRESSION AND FIRE ALARM DESIGN -BUILD CONTRACTORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR
COMPLETING AND FILING THEIR PLANS AND OBTAINING THEIR PERMITS.
2. MECHANICAL WORK IS LIMITED TO A DESIGN -BUILD SCOPE AND IS OUTLINED IN THESE
DRAWINGS. NO NEW MAIN MECHANICAL APPLIANCES OR MAIN EQUIPMENT ARE BEING
PROVIDED. ALL MECHANICAL WORK IS LIMITED TO RELOCATION OF DIFFUSERS AND
FLEX DUCT PER NEW WALL LAYOUT. NO NEW HARD DUCTWORK OR EQUIPMENT IS
BEING ADDED; MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR IS TO NOTIFY APPLICABLE PARTIES IF
ADDITIONAL WORK IS REQUIRED SO THAT ADDITIONAL PLANS CAN BE FILED AND MUST
COMPLY WITH THE INDIANA MECHANICAL CODE AND ALL OTHER APPLICABLE CODES.
3. VERIFY HEAT LOADS OF ANY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT IN THE TENANTSPACE, AND PROVIDE
ADDITIONAL AIR FLOW IF REQUIRED. CONFIRM WITH OWNER PRIOR TO ANY PURCHASE
OF NEW EQUIPMENT. REVISE ZONING IF REQUIRED. DO NOT DESIGN ANY SINGLE
OFFICE SPACE TO BE ON A SPLIT ZONE UNLESS APPROVED BY BUILDING
OWNER/LANDLORD.
4. RELOCATE AIR -SUPPLY DIFFUSERS AND RETURN -AIR GRILLES AS REQUIRED. PROVIDE
PROPER AIR SUPPLY FOR DIFFUSERS AND RETURN AIR FROM RETURN AIR GRILLES.
CONTRACTOR IS TO PLACE LOCATION OF DIFFUSERS AND RETURN AIR GRILLES AS
REQUIRED BY CODE.
5. POSITION LOCATION OF ALL THERMOSTATS WHERE APPROPRIATE PER MECHANICAL
DESIGN. COORDINATE WITH TENANT AND BUILDING OWNER FOR FURNITURE PANEL OR
OTHER CONFLICTS,
6. ELECTRICAL WORK IS LIMITED TO A DESIGN -BUILD SCOPE AND IS OUTLINED IN THESE
DRAWINGS. ALL ELECTRICAL WORK IS LIMITED TO ADDITIONS OR RELOCATIONS OF
ELECTRICAL OUTLET DEVICES AND LIGHTING THAT DO NOT EXCEED THE CAPACITY OF
THE EXISTING ELECTRICAL SERVICE IN THE BUILDING. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR IS TO
NOTIFY APPLICABLE PARTIES IF ADDITIONAL WORK IS REQUIRED SO THAT ADDITIONAL
PLANS CAN BE FILED AND MUST COMPLY WITH ALL APPLICABLE CODES.
7. COMPLY WITH THE INDIANA ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL CODE AND ALL OTHER
APPLICABLE CODES.
S. SIZE AND CIRCUIT ELECTRICAL POWER ITEMS. PROVIDE OR REUSE ELECTRICAL POWER
AND DATA OUTLETS AS REQUIRED,
9. ALL ELECTRICAL OUTLETS WITHIN 6'-0"OF WATER ARE TO BE G.F.C.I.
10. AT EACH PHONE AND DATA JACK, PROVIDE PULL STRING FROM ABOVE CEILING TO
BOX. TENANT'S DATA CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PULLING CONDUCTORS AND
PROVIDING APPROPRIATE TERMINALS AT FACE PLATE.
11. PROVIDE COLORED FACEPLATES FOR ELECTRICAL OUTLETS & SWITCHPLATES TO MATCH
EXISTING, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. ELECTRICIAN TO FIELD VERIFY PRIOR TO
PURCHASE.
12. PROVIDE JUNCTION BOXES OR POWER POLES AT WORKSTATIONS WHERE SHOWN.
REFER TO THE PLAN FOR THE APPROPRIATE DESIGNATIONS. DATA WILL BE RUN BY THE
TENANT'S DATA VENDOR, ELECTRICIAN TO MAKE FINAL CONNECTION FROM
WORKSTATION WHIP TO JUNCTION BOX. THE FURNITURE VENDOR 6 TO BE RESPONSIBLE
FOR WIRING THE BASE PANELS OF THE WORKSTATIONS.
13. CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE WITH TENANT ON WORKSTATION FURNITURE
SPECIFICATIONS TO OBTAIN CIRCUITRY REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO RUNNING ELECTRICAL
CONDUITS TO JUNCTION BOXES.
14. IF REQUIRED, AND AS NECESSARY, PROVIDE NEW BALLASTS AND LAMPS IN ALL LIGHTS IN
EXISTING SPACES, CONSULT WITH LANDLORD,
15. VERIFY EXISTING LIGHTING CIRCUITING. SIZE NEW CIRCUITS AS REQUIRED. PROVIDE
NEW OR REVISE EXISTING CIRCUITING FOR NEW LAYOUT OF LIGHT FIXTURES.
16. ENSURE THAT ALL MOUNTING HEIGHTS OF ELECTRICAL DEVICES MEET A.D.A.
REQUIREMENTS.
17. WHERE MULTIPLE SWITCHES ARE SHOWN, PROVIDE (1) GANG BOX WITH A SINGLE
COVER PLATE.
18. CENTER CEILING ELEMENTS IN CEILING TILES, INCLUDING RECESSED DOWN LIGHTS,
SMOKE DETECTORS, SPRINKLER HEADS, AND EXIT SIGNS UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
19, PROVIDE EMERGENCY LIGHTING IN TENANT SPACE AS REQUIRED PER NEMA AND IBC.
EMERGENCY BATTERY PACKS OR LIGHTS CONNECTED TO AN EMERGENCY POWER
SOURCE ARE REQUIRED IF THE SPACE CONTAINS 50 PERSONS OR MORE. FIXTURES
SHOWN ON PLAN ARE FOR REFERENCE ONLY,
20. PROVIDE ALARM NOTIFICATION APPLIANCES (HORNS/STROBES), EMERGENCY
SPEAKERS, SMOKE DETECTORS, FIRE PULLS, AND ANY OTHER REQUIRED ALARM &
DETECTION SYSTEMS AS NECESSARY TO MEET ALL APPLICABLE CODES (INTERNATIONAL
BUILDING CODE, INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE, NFPA). IN RECEPTION AREAS,
CONFERENCE ROOMS AND OTHER HIGH PROFILE AREAS WITHIN SUITE, ALL LOCATIONS
OF SUCH DEVICES MUST BE APPROVED BY SDI OR TENANT PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.
FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN CONTRACTOR RELOCATING THESE ITEMS AT THEIR
EXPENSE,
21. COORDINATE WITH THE OWNER/TENANT PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF FIRE DETECTION
DEVICES REGARDING ALL DEVICE LOCATIONS TO AVOID CONFLICT WITH FEATURE
WALLS (CONFERENCE ROOMS AND RECEPTION AREAS) AND TENANT -INSTALLED ITEMS
(I.E. PRESENTATION BOARDS, A/V EQUIPMENT AND PROJECTION SCREENS).

I. ALL WORK SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE EXISTING BUILDING
CONSTRUCTION TYPE AS DEFINED BY SECTION 601 OF THE INDIANA BUILDING CODE,
2. ALL WORK SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF ALL APPLICABLE STATE AND
LOCAL BUILDING CODES. CONTRACTORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING THE
CURRENT APPLICABLE BUILDING CODE(S) FOR THEIR RESPECTIVE SCOPE OF WORK.
3. CONTRACTORS SHALL VISIT THE WORK SITE PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT. THE
DRAWINGS CONTAINED HEREIN MAY NOT BE ALL INCLUSIVE OF EXISTING CONDITIONS
OR NEW WORK REQUIREMENTS. CONTRACTOR(S) SHALL MAKE THEMSELVES FAMILIAR
WITH THE WORK SITE IN THE FIELD IN ORDER TO BE FULLY AWARE OF THE REQUIREMENTS
OF THE SCOPE OF WORK,
4. FIELD VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND MEASUREMENTS. INFORM THE GENERAL
CONTRACTOR BEFORE BEGINNING ANY CONSTRUCTION IF EXISTING CONDITIONS
PREVENT OBTAINING RESULTS AS SHOWN OR SPECIFIED, DO NOT SCALE DRAWINGS,
NOTED DIMENSIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE.
5. VERIFY EXISTING CONDITIONS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS AND REPORT ANY
DISCREPANCY THROUGH THE GEN ERAL CONTRACTOR TO SCHOTT DESIGN, INC.
6. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH THE OWNER REGARDING ALL
ON -SITE ACTIVITIES; SUCH AS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, WORK SCHEDULE, MATERIALS
STORAGE AN D HANDLING, DELIVERIES, ACCESS TO THE WORK SITE, TRAFFIC CONTROL,
AND BUILDING/PUBLIC SAFETY PROCEDURES DURING CONSTRUCTION, THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO COORDINATE WORK 'BY OTHERS" WITH HIS/HER OWN
ACTIVITIES AS NECESSARY TO EXECUTE THE OVERALL PROJECT SCOPE.
7. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH THE LANDLORD, DAILY WORKING
HOURS, WEEKEND HOURS AND HOURS THAT MAY BE WORKED PRIOR TO AND DURING
HOLIDAYS. LANDLORD RESERVES THE RIGHT TO RESTRICT CONSTRUCTION TO NIGHTS AND
WEEKENDS WHEN THAT CONSTRUCTION IS DEEMED TO INTERFERE WITH THE OPERATIONS
OF ADJACENT TENANTS.
8. FOR THOSE ITEMS TO BE ORDERED REQUIRING LEAD TIME, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
COORDINATE THE PROJECT SCHEDULE ACCORDINGLY AND COMMUNICATE TO THE
OWNER, TENANT, AND SCHOTT DESIGN WHEN DECISIONS MUST BE RENDERED IN ORDER
FOR THE CONTRACTOR TO MEET THE PROJECT SCHEDULE. THE OWNER, TENANT, OR
DESIGNER/ARCHITECT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DELAYS RESULTING FROM THE
CONTRACTOR'S FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE MATERIAL LEAD TIMES,
9. SUBSTITUTIONS FOR SPECIFICALLY NAMED PRODUCTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED WITHOUT
PRIOR APPROVAL FROM THE DESIGNER. SUBMIT REQUESTS FOR SUBSTITUTIONS WITH
APPROPRIATE SUPPORT INFORMATION TO THE DESIGNER, ALLOW REASONABLY
SUFFICIENT TIME FOR THE DESIGNER TO REVIEW THE REQUEST AND RENDER A DECISION.
10. SCHOTT DESIGN, INC., SHALL NOT HAVE CONTROL OVER, OR BE IN CHARGE OF, AND
SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A CONTRACTOR'S CONSTRUCTION MEANS, METHODS,
SCHEDULES, SEQUENCES, OR SAFETY, THE CONTRACTORS SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
MAINTAINING A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR WORKERS AND THE PUBLIC AT ALL TIMES.
11. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL ESTABLISH WITH THE LANDLORD CLEANUP
PROCEDURES AND GUIDELINES TO BE FOLLOWED ON A DAILY BASIS IN ORDER TO
CONDUCT BUSINESS IN ASAFE AND CLEAN ENVIRONMENT.
12. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH THE LANDLORD, AN AREA FOR
STAGING OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, DUMPSTER AND PARKING
CONSTRUCTION AND DELIVERY VEHICLES. THE USE OF EXISTING REST ROOM FACILITIES
SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE LANDLORD. ONLY THOSE DESIGNATED AREAS SHALL BE USED
BY CONSTRUCTION CREWS.
13. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL USE DUST PARTITIONS TO MINIMIZE DISTURBANCES OF
DAILY TENANT OPERATIONS DURING DEMOLITION AND CONSTRUCTION WORK. DUST
PARTITIONS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED OF 2%4 WOOD STUDS® 24 O.C., INSULATION AND 6
MIL VAPOR BARRIER ON EACH SIDE.
14. CONTACT THE DESIGNER IMMEDIATELY IF, IN THE FIELD, CONFLICTS ARE DISCOVERED
BETWEEN COMPONENTS OF DIFFERENT SYSTEMS THAT PREVENT THE INSTALLATION OF
THOSE COMPONENTS AS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS. (I.E. WHERE EXISTING
MECHANICAL DUCTWORK MAY PREVENT THE INSTALLATION OF LIGHTING FIXTURES AS
INDICATED ON THE CEILING PLAN).
I5. SCHOTT DESIGN, INC., IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE IDENTIFICATION, DISCOVERY,
PRESENCE, HANDLING, REMOVAL, DISPOSAL OF, OR EXPOSURE TO ANY PERSONS, THAT
OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS IN ANY FORM ON THE PROJECT SITE.
16. PROVIDE FIRE -TREATED WOOD BLOCKING IN WALLS FOR ALL WALL HUNG ITEMS
INCLUDING MILLWORK, WALL STOPS, CABINETRY, ETC.
17, SHOP DRAWINGS OR CATALOG CUTS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO SCHOTT DESIGN, INC, FOR
APPROVAL ON ALL MATERIALS OR ITEMS WHERE THE CONTRACTOR CHOOSES TO
DEVIATE FROM WHAT IS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS, OR IF THE DRAWINGS DO NOT
INDICATE A SPECIFIC MANUFACTURER OR MODEL NUMBER,
18. EXPEDITE PREPARATION AND SUBMITTAL OF ALL SHOP DRAWINGS TO ALLOW SUFFICIENT
TIME FOR CHECKING, APPROVAL, ORDERING, FABRICATION, AND DELIVERY OF
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT.
FINISH NOTES
I. ALL FINISHES SHALL COMPLY WITH CHAPTER 8 (INTERIOR FINISHES) OF THE INDIANA
BUILDING CODE FOR CLASS A FIRE RATINGS,
2. FOR ALL NEW DRYWALL INSTALLATIONS, INSTALL AS RECOMMENDED BY THE GYPSUM
ASSOCIATION, (SUCH AS, CONTROL JOINTS, FINISH LEVELS, FASTENERS, TAPING DETAILS,
CORNER BEADS, ETC.) PROVIDE NEW CEMENT BACKER BOARD AS A SUBSTRATE FOR
NEW WALL TILE PER MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS
3. REFERENCE REFLECTED CEILING PLAN AND ELECTRICAL PLAN FOR COLOR OF
ELECTRICAL AND DATA DEVICES AND PLATES. REMOVE ALL PLATES BEFORE PAINTING
AND REATTACHED AFTERWARDS. CONTRACTOR TO CONFIRM DESIRED COLOR PRIOR
TO PURCHASING NEW.
4. ALL AREAS RECEIVING PAINT ARE TO RECEIVE PRIMER COAT AND TWO(2)FINISH
COATS.
5. FOR CHANGE IN FLOOR FINISH MATERIAL, PROVIDE TRANSITION STRIP AT DOOR
OPENINGS AS NOTED ON FINISH PLAN (I.E. WHERE VCT MEETS CARPET).
6. WHERE LIMITS OF WORK ARE SHOWN, OTHER INCIDENTAL WORK LIKE PAINTING WHERE
NEW OUTLETS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED, IS CONSIDERED PART OF THE SCOPE OF WORK.
PROVIDE A COMPLETE AND FINISHED PRODUCT READY FOR TENANT AND BUILDING
OWNER.
7. REFINISH SURFACES TO MATCH EXISTING WHERE DEMOLITION HAS OCCURRED,
8. WHERE PHONE BOARD IS PROVIDED, PAINT BOARD WITH FIRE RETARDANT PAINT TO
MATCH ADJACENT WALL FINISH.
9. SUBMIT FINISH SAMPLE OF MILLWORK (STAINED OR PAINTED AS SPECIFIED)TO SCHOTT
DESIGN FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL PRIOR TO THE FINISHING PROCESS OF ALL
MILLWORK.
10. REFERENCE INTERIOR ELEVATION& SECTIONS WHERE PROVIDED FOR ADDITIONAL FINISH
INFORMATION.
11. ALL PAINTS AND ADHESIVES/SEALANTS SHALL HAVE LOW VOC CONTENT.
12. ALL ADHESIVES/SEALANTS TO BE USED AS RECOMMENDED BY PRODUCT
MANUFACTURER.
19. ENSURE THAT ALL MATERIALS AND LABOR ARE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE BEST QUALITY
STANDARDS OF EACH RESPECTIVE TRADE WHETHER SPECIFIED OR NOT, THE GENERAL
CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT ALL WORK IS IN ACCORDANCE WITH
ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL BUILDING CODES, AND STANDARDS FOR GENERAL,
MECHANICAL, AND ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION,
20. ALL DETAILS,MATERIALS, AND INSTALLATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO FIRST APPROVAL BY
SCHOTT DESIGN, INC., AND FINAL APPROVAL BY THE OWNER.
21. REVIEW AND COORDINATE ALL NEW WORK AND EXISTING CONDITIONS WITH ALL OTHER
TRADES. FIELD WORK ORDERS & CHANGE ORDERS WILL NOT BE APPROVED FOR ANY
CONDITIONS OR CONFLICTS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN ACCOUNTED FOR BY THE BIDDER
DURING PREBIDFIELD INSPECTION AND AFTER AWARD OF CONTRACT.
22, FURNITURE, OFFICE EQUIPMENT, OFFICE PARTITION SYSTEMS, REFRIGERATORS, VENDING
MACHINES, AND OTHER SIMILAR ITEMS SHOWN DASHED ON THIS DRAWING AND NOT
ATTACHED TO THE BUILDING ARE FOR REFERENCE ONLY AND ARE NOTTO BE PROVIDED
AS PART OF THE WORK UNLESS SPECIFICALLY STATED TO BE PROVIDED.
23. REPAIR GYPSUM WALLBOARD WHERE DEMOLITION HAS OCCURRED AT REMAINING
WALLS. REPAIR ANY GYPSUM BOARD DAMAGED BY DEMOLITION. PROVIDE EXPANSION
JOINTS IN DRYWALL WHERE NEW WALLS MEET OR ADJOIN TO EXISTING CORE WALLS.
24. PATCH ALL GYPSUM WALLBOARD AT AREAS OF ELECTRICAL, DATA AND SWITCH
DEVICES BEING REMOVED. PATCH HOLE WITH DRYWALL, TAPE, SPACKLE AND PREPARE
FOR FINISH.
25, ALL EQUIPMENT AND/OR FIXTURES SHALL BE INSTALLED IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH
THE MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS OR INSTRUCTIONS.
26. EXECUTE A THOROUGH FINAL CLEAN AND INSPECTION OF THE SPACE UPON
COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT, ALL SURFACES, FIXTURES, AND EQUIPMENTSHALL BE
CLEAN, AND THE SPACE SHALL BE TURNED OVER TO THE OWNER IN A CONDITION THAT
REPRESENTS THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF CARE AND PROFESSIONALISM. ENSURE ALL GENERAL
CONTRACTOR INSTALLED APPLIANCES WORK & DO NOT LEAK.
27. PROVIDE TO THE OWNER ALL OPERATION AND/OR MAINTENANCE MANUALS, OR
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEMS AT THE COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT.
28. ALL PLAN DIMENSIONS ARE FROM FACE OF EXISTING FINISH TO FACE OF NEW GYPSUM
BOARD WALL, OR FACE TO FACE OF NEW GYPSUM BOARD WALL, DO NOTSCALE
DRAWINGS. WRITTEN DIMENSIONS GOVERN.
29. CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE AN ALLOWANCE FOR CLEANING EXISTING WINDOW BLINDS.
REPLACE ANY DAMAGED OR MISSING WINDOW BLINDS WITH NEW TO MATCH BUILDING
STANDARD.
30. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING THE REQUIREMENTS
REGARDING LOCAL PLAN REVIEW, PERMITS, INSPECTIONS, AND FEES. THE GENERAL
CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SUBMITTING ALL REQUIRED DRAWINGS AND
SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS TO THE LOCAL BUILDING OFFICIAL AND/OR PERMIT
DEPARTMENT. ALL REQUIRED LOCAL PERMIT FEES SHALL BE PAID BY THE GENERAL
CONTRACTOR UNLESS STIPULATED OTHERWISE IN THE OWNER/CONTRACTOR
AGREEMENT.
31. FIRE SEAL ALL PENETRATIONS THROUGH RATED WALLS, FLOORS, AND CEILINGS WITH
APPROVED FIRE -RATED CAULK AS DIRECTED BY LOCAL JURISDICTIONS,
32. WHERE STRUCTURAL BEAMS, DUCTWORK, ETC. PENETRATE SOU ND OR FIRE RATED

PLANS AGAINST DIMENSIONS OF AS -BUILT CONDITIONS IN FIELD, REPORT ANY
DISCREPANCIES TO SCHOTT DESIGN THROUGH THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR. MAKE
ADJUSTMENTS TO CASEWORK AND MILLWORK TO FIT FIELD CONDITIONS UNLESS DOING
SO WILL SIGNIFICANTLY ALTER THE INTENT OF THE DESIGN SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS.
5. VERIFY FINISHES (LAMINATE, VENEER, STAINS, ETC.) ON THE SECTIONS AND ELEVATION
DRAWINGS WITH FINISHES INDICATED ON THE FINISH PLAN/SCHEDULES. IMMEDIATELY

DOCUMENT APPROVAL
I. DECONSTRUCTION DEFINITION: CAREFULLY DISMANTLE SPACES WITH
THE GOAL OF MAXIMIZING THE REUSE POTENTIAL OF ITS COMPONENTS.
2. DECONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT CHECKLIST: ALL ITEMS SHOWN ON
THE DECONSTRUCTION PLAN HAVE BEEN CAREFULLY CONSIDERED FOR
RECOVERY, REUSE, AND RECYCLING WITH THE BEST INTENT TO DIVERT
ITEMS FROM THE LANDFILL. REFER TO DECONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
CHECKLIST FOR SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS.
3. RECYCLING: GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
RECYCLING ANY AN D ALL POSSIBLE PROJECT MATERIAL WASTE AND
COORDINATING THE APPROPRIATE HAULING CONTAINERS WITH THE
WASTE MANAGEMENT SUB -CONTRACTOR.
4. EXISTING STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS OF BUILDING: NO STRUCTURAL OR
LOAD -BEARING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE REMOVED, DEMOLISHED, OR
DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF THIS PROJECT UNLESS SPECIFICALLY NOTED
OTHERWISE ON THE DRAWINGS, PROTECTALL EXISTING STRUCTURAL
MEMBERS DURING DEMOLITION/CONSTRUCTION. THE CONTRACTOR
SHALL VERIFY IN THE FIELD, PRIOR TO DEMOLITION, THAT ALL ITEMS
NOTED TO BE DEMOLISHED ARE NOT STRUCTURAL, CONTACT SCHOTT
DESIGN IMMEDIATELY IF THE CONTRACTOR(S) IN THE FIELD SUSPECT
THATAN ITEM NOTED FOR DEMOLITION APPEARS TO BE STRUCTURAL OR
OTHERWISE LOAD -BEARING, BEWARE OF STRUCTURAL COLUMNS
AND/OR BEAMS THAT MAY BE CONCEALED BEHIND FINISHES THAT ARE
NOTED FOR REMOVAL. EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN DEMOLISHING
BUILDING FINISHES OR PARTITIONS ADJACENT TO OR AROUND
STRUCTURAL MEMBERS. THE CONTRACTOR IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR
INADVERTENT DAMAGE TO THE BUILDING STRUCTURAL SYSTEM.
5. EQUIPMENT, FIXTURE, FINISH REUSE: WHERE EQUIPMENT, FIXTURES,
OR FINISHES ARE MOVED FROM ANY OTHER PART OF THE BUILDING TO
BE REUSED IN THE PROJECT AREA, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INCLUDE IN
THEIR SCOPE OF WORK ANY NECESSARY PATCHING OR REPAIRING OF
THE REMAINING AREAS FROM WHERE THE ITEMS WERE RELOCATED,
UNLESS OTHERWISE DIRECTED BY OWNER.
6. DECONSTRUCTION PLANS: REMOVE ALL EXISTING WALLS AND
DOORS WHERE INDICATED BY NOTE, SYMBOL, OR DASHED LINES, NOTE
THAT SOME ITEMS HAVE NOT BEEN SHOWN ON DECONSTRUCTION
PLAN. VISIT AREA OF WORK TO ASSURE EXTENT OF DECONSTRUCTION.
7. FIELD VERIFICATION OF EXISTING CONDITIONS: REMOVE ALL
CARPET, VINYL BASE, VCT, WALL FABRIC, AND ANY OTHER FINISHES AS
REQUIRED FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION. CONTRACTOR TO FIELD VERIFY
EXISTING CONDITIONS. REFER TO FINISH PLAN/SCHEDULE FOR
CLARIFICATION OF EXISTING FINISHES TO REMAIN.
8. PROTECTION OF BUILDING ELEMENTS TO REMAIN: USE CARE TO
PROTECT EXISTING BUILDING ELEMENTS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS
TO REMAIN SUCH AS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, EXISTING CEILING GRID,
TILES, FIRE SUPPRESSION EQUIPMENT, DIFFUSERS, LIGHT FIXTURES,
EQUIPMENT, CASEWORK, AND FINISHES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
REPLACE AND/OR REPAIR, AT THE CONTRACTOR'S COST, ANY SUCH
ELEMENTS DAMAGED DURING CONSTRUCTION THATCOULD HAVE

9. REMOVAL OF ABANDONED CABLING& WIRING: PER THE INDIANA
ELECTRICAL CODE (SPREAD OF FIRE OR PRODUCTS OF COMBUSTION)
REMOVE ALL ACCESSIBLE PORTIONS OF ABANDONED CABLES AND
WIRING INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: DATA WIRING,
COMMUNICATIONS WIRING, FIRE ALARM CABLES, AUDIO CABLES,
COAXIAL CABLES, FIBER OPTIC CABLES/RACEWAYS, AND PLTC CABLES,
REFER TO SECTION 300.21. ANY SUCH CABLE OR WIRING SHOULD BE
PULLED AND REMOVED BACK TO THEIR MAIN SOURCES ON THE FLOOR
(I.E. ELECTRICAL PANELS, PHONE BOARDS, ETC.)
10. PROTECTION OF ABANDONED/TERMINATED BUILDING SYSTEM
ELEMENTS: WHERE FIXTURES OR EQUIPMENT ARE REMOVED FROM ANY
ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, MECHANICAL, OR VOICE/DATA SYSTEMS, ALL
REMAINING TERMINATIONS SHALL BE CLOSED AND PROTECTED IN
STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH INDUSTRY STANDARDS AND GOVERNING
SAFETY REGULATIONS OR PROCEDURES. MARK, LABEL, OR FLAG ALL
TERMINATED SYSTEMS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. CONTRACTOR TO

11. HAZARDOUS MATERIALS: GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE
FOR IDENTIFYING ANY AN D ALL ITEMS THAT MAY CONTAIN HAZARDOUS
OR HARMFUL MATERIALS. ALL IDENTIFIED ITEMS MUST BE PROPERLY
DISPOSED OF PER EPA AND IDEM RULES AND REGULATIONS,
