HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIDTOWN FLATS POOL10 4.1� POOL PERIMETER DETAIL \ 4. SCALE: 3" = 1'-0" SWIMMING POOL REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS: SCOPE OF WORK: A. Provide all labor, material, tools, and equipment necessary for swimming pool, circulations pumps, pool filter systems, chemical treatment, piping and finishes. B. Include cost and securing of all permits required by all governmental agencies and submittals to regulatory bodies, including stale and local agencies. STEEL REINFORCING: A. Pool steel reinforcement shall be the responsibility of the Pool Contractor, following plans prepared by a registered engineer or architect. QUALITY ASSURANCE: A. Pool Contractor shall perform all work in compliance with the requirements of the following agencies: Indiana Swimming Pool Code, current edition. International Building Code (Indiana Building Code, current edition) Local Health and Building Regulations OSHA POOL CONSTRUCTION: A. Construction shall be Gunite or Shote rele as specified by the American Concrete Institute. B. Final curing crush -strength of not less than 4,500 psi. C. The walls of the pool are to be vertical and slope no greater than eleven (11) degrees from plumb. D. Provide a cove, not to exceed a 6" radius, shot at the floor and wall intersections. E. During the Gunite/Sholcrele application, all piping shall remain under 30 psi of air pressure. SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING: A. The General Contractor and the Pool Contractor shall coordinate any required pipe sleeves, conduits and building wall penetrations. PIPE AND FITTING MATERIALS: A. The swimming pool filler system piping shall be design pressure Schedule 40 PVC, Rigid, Type 1 Grade 1, ANSI/ASTM D1785. Joints shall be solvent -weld socket types as recommended by the pipe manufacturer, fittings shall be PVC, normal impact Type 1, ANSI/ASTM D2466, with solvent -weld socket ends for Schedule 40 pipe. POOL SYSTEM SPECIALTIES: A. Main drain suction line shall be plumbed to two (2) separate main drain grates. B. Skimmers shall be of PVC construction with two (2) 2" port threaded outlets. C. Use fttings for all changes in direction, changes in size, and all branch connections. B. When possible, locate groups of pipes parallel to each other, spaced to permit servicing of valves. C. Locate all recirculating pipes in the Floor of the pool, teeing or angling up the walls of the pool at the closest location to that fitting. D. Install flow meter in accordance with the latest guidelines put forth by the state or local health departments. E. Pipes should be hung using pipe hangers when in proximity to the pump room ceiling and under braced supports when in proximity to the pump room floor. F. Hydrostatically test the pool under 30 psi of air at least 24 hours prior to covering any piping with a maximum drop of two (2) pounds. Pressure shall remain on all lines while any covering of piping is taking place. POOL SURFACE FINISH: A. Apply swimming pool plaster finish to all vertical and horizontal pool surfaces except as designated to receive other finishes. Pod paint is not acceptable. B. Trowel apply finish from''/." to'/:" thickness, trowel to even, smooth, hard surfaces free of surface blemishes and depressions. TILE: A. Apply 6"x6" swimming pool tile at water line, as selected by Owner. Pool contractor shall submit sample boards or tiles for Owner's selection. B. Surface accepting Tile shall be clean, dry, and free of oily or waxy build- up. C. Clean glaze of tile using water and detergent as work progresses. D. "NO DIVING" and depth indicator tiles shall be in accordance with the latest codes and guidelines put forth by the stale and/or local health departments. COPING: A. Install precast or brick coping in accordance with ANSI At 08-1976 standards, grout with a color compatible with color of coping. B. Coping shall meet all codes and standards of state and/or local health departments. DECK APPLIANCES: A. Install stainless steel handrails at the pool step entry/exit as shown on drawings. P B. One three (3) step stainless steel ladder shall be placed al the deep end of the pool as shown on drawings. C. All deck anchors shall be brass. D. All escutcheon plates shall be stainless steel and free of marring and defects. MAINTENANCE ACCESSORIES: A. One (1) 1 %" 35 foot long vacuum hose. B. One (1) wall adapter. C. One 18bacuum cleaner head. D. One (1) telescoping pole with locking nut. E. One (1) 18" curved wall brush. F. One (1) 12' algae brush. G. One (1) dip net. H. One (1) DPD test kit. SAFETY EQUIPMENT: A. One (1) 24" U.S. Coast Guard approved life buoy with a minimum 30 foot throw line. B. One (1) solid non-adjustable pole with life hook. C. One (1) spine board with straps. D. One (1) 24-unit first aid kit with disposable gloves. FILLING OF POOL: A. Pool Contractor shall coordinate timing of fill with the General Contractor and/or Owner to assure construction is complete. B. Do not fill the pool until the filter system is ready to be placed in operation. INSTRUCTIONS AND TRAINING: A. Pool Contractor shall coordinate the instruction of the operation of the pool and its appliances to all interested parties on a selected normal P PP workday. B. Provide to the Owner all manuals and written instructions on the pool appliances.
