Prep soil and seed bed for planting. 2. Install low profile seed mix. (See lower right hand corner) 3. Install double layer straw bionet erosion control blanket (S15013N) with 6" U- staples or 4" T- pins. 4. The soil plug for each plant shall be approximately 2" wide by 4" tall at minimum. (See Table Above for Types) 5. Plugs shall be planted using offset square spacing at 18" on centers. (See Offset Planting Diagram) Recommended planting plugs in groupings of 5-7 of each species. 6. Make 4-6 inch horizontal cuts in erosion control blanket where plug is to be planted. 7. Using a dibble bar, small spade, or similar planting tool make a hole large enough for the plug to be installed within the cuts with minimum disturbance. 8. After soil is pressed firmly around plug pull erosion control blanket back together overlapping top edge over bottom edge and place 1- 2 of the 6" U- staples to close up the seam. (See Planting ECB Diagram) 9. The basin should be watered thoroughly once the plug planting is complete. 10. Depending on the time of year when installation occurs, additional watering events may be necessary to ensure successful establishment of the plantings. 11. All storm pipe entering structures shall be grouted to assure a watertight connection. 12. All storm structures shall have a smooth uniform poured mortar invert from invert in to invert out. The inside of all structures where storm pipes connect shall be grouted smooth. Emergency Spillway Cross Section Scale: N.T.S. Low -Profile Prairie as, 1s".
