GENERAL
The s�mc�ure has been designed for �he service loads onty. The me�hods, means, procedures, and sequences of cons�mc�ion are
�he responsibiliry of �he conVac�or. The s�mcWre is designed �o be self -suppor�ing and s�able af�er �he building is comple�e. I� is �he
conirectors responsibility to determine erection procedures and sequences to insure safety of ihe building and its componenis
during erection.Thisincludesihe addition ofnecessary shoring,sheeting,temporery bracing,guys,tie-downs,etc.
The simcWrel drewings shall be used in conjunction with architecWrel, mechanical, elecVical and plumbing drewings.
No penetra�ions, o�her �han �hose shown on �he drawings shall be made wi�hou� �he approval of �he Archi�ec�.
CONCRETE MIX DESIGN SUBMITTAL
The con�rec�or shall submi� for �he review of �he Archi�ec� a mix design for each proposed class of concre�e. Each mix design shall
be iden�ified by a number or o�her unique iden�ifma�ion. The con�rec�or shall no� vary bom �he mix design nor use any concre�e o�her
ihan ihe appmved mix design without ihe approval of ihe Amhitect.
SHOP DRAW WG SUBMITTALS
The contrac�or shall prepare tle�ailetl shop tlrawings �o enable him �o fabrica�e, erec� antl cons�mc� all par�s of �he work in
accordance wi�h �he drawings and specifica�ions. These shop drawings will be reviewed for general compliance wi�h �he design
intent only. The conirector is responsible for all dimensions, accurecy and fit of work.
All shop drewings shall be reviewed by ihe conirector prior to submitlal to ihe ArchitecL Drewings submiVed without conirectors
review will be reWrned unchecked.

CONCRETE
Re-inforced concre�e has been designed In accordance wi�h �he Bullding Code Requiremenk for SbucWral Concre�e (ACI 318) and
Commen�ary (ACI 318R).
Mixing , Vansporling, and placing of concre�e shall conform �o �he la�es� edi�ion of �he Specifma�ions for S�mcWral Concre�e for
buildings (ACI 301). Ready-mixed concre�e shall conform �o �he requiremen�s of ASTM C94., incase of discrepancy, �he plans and
specifications shall govem.

CONCRETESLABSON GRADE
Slabs on grade shall be cons�mc�ed In accordance wi�h �he la�es� edl�ion of �he Guide for Concre�e Floor and Slab Consbuc�ion (ACI
302. 1 R).
Place concre�e in a manner so as �o preven� segrega�ion of �he mix. DelayOoa�ing and Voweling opera�ions un�il �he concre�e has
lost surtace water sheen or all Gee water. Do not sprinkle bee cement on ihe slab surtace.
Provide curing of concrete slabs immediately after finishing using a spreyed on dissipating-resin liquid curing compound conforming
�o ASTM C309. All scuRs or abrasions �o �he wring membrane shall be re-coa�ed daily.0�her curing me�hods may be used wi�h
approval by �he Archi�ec�.
Slabs on gratle in offwe areas shall receive a smoo�h �mwel finish, antl be placetl b achieve �he following minimum �olerance.

REINFORCING STEEL
Reinforcing steel shall be deformed bars conforming to ASTM A615 and shall have a minimum yield sVengih of 60,000 psi.
Reducing bar de�ailing, fabnca�ing, and placing shall conform �o �he la�es� edi�ion of �he following s�andards: ACI 301, ACI 318, and
AQ De�ailing Manual (SP66).
Reinforcing s�eel shall no� be �ack welded, welded, hea�ed or or cu� unless indica�ed on �he con�rec� documen�s or approved by �he
Archi�ec�.
Where lap splice lengihs are not shown or noted, provide a Class "B" lap.
Provide corner bars of some size and spacing at horizontal bars of all walls and grede beams.

WELDABLE REINFORQNG STEEL
Reinforcing steel, which is to be welded, shall conform ASTM A]O6. Welding of reinforcing steel, when approved by ihe Architect,
shall conform to ihe latest edition of American Welding Society Standard D1 4. ElecVodes for shop and field welding of reinforcing
shall conform �o ASTM A233, Class E90XX.
EXPANSION ANCHORS
Expansion anchors shall be carbon s�eelanchors as manufacWretl by Hil�i Fas�ening Sys�ems oran equivalen�subs�i�u�e appmvetl
by �he Archi�ec� and shall be ins�alled in conformance wi�h �he manufacWrers recommenda�ions.

o�herwise shown or no�ed on �he drawings, o�her welded conneclions may be made wi�h s�andard E]OXX elecVodes.
SimcWrel steel shall be shop painted with a mst inhibiting primer, unless noted otherwise on ihe drewings. Coordinate primer paint
wi�h �he Archl�ec� for s�eel �o remain exposed or �o receive finlsh pain�.
S�mcWral s�eel no�etl �o be galvanizetl shall be ho4tlip gaNanizetl in conformance wi�h ASTM A125.

connections not shown, to support one-half ihe total uniform load-carrying capaciry of ihe beam.
Provide L3x5� bamed openings for all roof peneVa�ions larger �han 10 inches along any side, unless larger Gaming is indica�ed.
Refer to Mechanical drewings for penetretions. Coordinate Gamed opening sizes and locations with ihe Mechanical conirector.
COL� FORME� METAL FRAMWG
S�mcWral pmper�ies of framing members shall be calcula�ed in acmrdance wi�h �he requiremen�s of �he curren� American Iron and
S�eel Ins�iW�e (A151 � Specifica�ions for �he Design of Cold Formed S�eel S�mcWral Members.
All cold formed metal baming materials shall conform to ASTM A653 with zinc coating conforming to ASTM A924. Plates, gussets
and clips shall have a minimum yield sVengih of 40 ksi and shall have ihickness as required for specifm conditions. Trecks, brecing,
furting and bndging shall have a minimum yield s�reng�h of 33 ksi.
All fas�eners shall conform �o ASTM A90 and be self drilling, self �apping screws, bol�s, nu�s and washers.
Cold formed metal Gaming system shall be installed in acmrdance with ihe mawfacWrers printed insimctions and as approved by
�he Archi�ec�.
Cold formed metal Gaming system shall be designed to accommodate consimction tolerences, de0ection of building simcWrel
members, and clearences of intended openings. Pmvide deflection allowance in sWd ireck, directly below building freming for
non-load bearing framing.
