Re: EXEMPTION FROM STATE FILING REQUEST Project: EMERSON LAW – Old Town Shops I 1 South Rangeline Road, Suite 400 Carmel, Indiana 46032 To Plan Review: This submission is to request an Exemption From State Filing based on 675 IAC 12-6-4. The plan is for a tenant improvement project on the fourth floor, in Suite 400 of the Old Town Shops I building at the SE corner of Main Street and Rangeline Road; in Carmel, Indiana. The plan is to reuse an existing tenant space of 2,426 square feet for a law office. Remodeling work consists of the construction of three (3) non-load-bearing partition walls, a combined total of less than 100 lineal feet. Other work consists of interior office door replacement, new wall and floor finishes, minor relocation of lighting fixtures, HVAC branch ducts and diffusers, and minor relocation of branch wiring. The Project is of a minor scope of work, and involves no structural, mechanical or primary electrical modifications and meets the criteria for filing exemption under GAR 675 IAC 12-6-4. I have attached, to this cover letter, the six (6) drawings showing the entire scope of the project and specifications for your reference. The EMERSON LAW tenant use is unchanged from the previous tenant, a Business (B) Occupancy, and the occupant load is unchanged. Therefore, per the instructions of your Plan Review Division, I am requesting approval for direct filing of construction documents by the Contractor with the Carmel Building Department for local permitting. As always, I and my staff of architects at Pedcor Design Group will be providing construction observation during the construction work and will report to the Owner any observed deficiencies or variations in the work as represented in the documents submitted for permits. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at any time. Sincerely, 4 James R.
