Joe,
th
Count me against any re-zoning to allow commercial type development for the NW corner of 116 & Springmill. I wish I
had more experience in dealing with the planning commission so that I could intelligently convey my reasons and steer
those opinions where they’d carry the most weight.
My family moved to Carmel in the early 90’s, with kids now gone just recently downsized in our move to Jackson’s
Grant. I could not have envisioned a better location, neighborhood, and community in which we’d soon retire. Years
ago I would log into the city planning maps, saw it was mostly zoned estate classifications, had significant green space,
trails, and lower travelled roads. We determined that this was the part of town we wanted to be part of. This part of
Carmel has held true in most respects until the most recent petition by Republic to change this land from residential to
commercial. That was a blow to the gut!
Commercial, mixed use, or whatever the term is that Republic is pushing for, it’s not what we want and probably not
what the original planners had intended.
Count me a NO against any rezoning of that property.
Thank you,
Jim Creamer, CFO
