Mr. Shestak, Carmel BZA and Plan Commission:
This email is in regards to Docket Number 19120002 and the zoning changes Republic Development has requested in
regards to Jackson’s Grant Village. We do NOT support a change to the current zoning. We believe that the low density
zoning as currently stated, should remain in place.
We live in the Creekside neighborhood within Jackson’s Grant. Although we will not abut to the new development, we
are most concerned about increased traffic, noise, security and decrease in home values. This zoning change would
affect everyone in our beautiful neighborhood. Because of the design and the fact that there will be no exit on 116th
Street, traffic is basically encouraged to cut through the neighborhood to either go North or East. Our quaint little
neighborhood can’t support that kind of traffic and it’s not fair to it’s residents. It’s unconscionable.
Throughout the Focus Group meetings with Republic, we feel strongly that Republic attempted to mislead the group,
and in some cases, outright misrepresented facts to the neighborhood. Any promises they make, we do not feel we
could rely on. Clearly, they led many of us to believe that the area being discussed would remain low density. We feel
strongly that Republic has not acted in good faith in presenting their position to our neighborhood.
Our neighborhood is stunning. We feel so lucky to live here. We do not need commercial units or 3 story high density
townhomes. We moved to Jackson’s Grant for the nature and low density in this neighborhood. Please don’t change
that.
Thank you for being willing to hear our opinions and for your kind consideration in this matter.
