HomeMy WebLinkAboutAddendum to permit application for Amy LawrenceAddendum to permit application for Amy Lawrence, 10910 Pleasantview Drive, Carmel, IN 46033. Lot 26 , Keystone Woods.
Background Info:
This is a little bit of a complicated situation so I thought I would explain as there is no place on the form to list this information.
I called City of Carmel Permit Department in January. I believe I spoke with Joe Shestak. I was told that he would need to approve me possibly filing all of my past and current home
changes under the same permit. I received verbal approval over the phone to file them all as under one application. Here are the changes since I moved to 10910 Pleasantview in 2012.
I didn’t realize I needed permits for some of the changes, but thought I would reach out to you as I will likely be moving this summer to relocate for a job.
Changes since taking possession in 2012:
Completion of upstairs loft in attached garage (built in 2004/2005 by the prior owner). The prior owner had started finishing the upstairs loft as an office before I moved in, but
he only had plywood up. I finished out the space by hiring contractors to insulate, run electric, drywall, flooring and finish the space. This was completed in 2013.
Removal of non-loadbearing wall between kitchen and living room. This was done in 9/2016, to open up the two rooms. Hardwood floors were installed at the time.
1/2020 Tear down of existing screen-in porch. The porch was very old and in bad shape. It was determined it would be best to tear it down and build a new screened in porch. I have
been meeting with my dad (Crown Exteriors) and an architect to draw new plans. The prior screened in porch connected the house and the new garage (built in 2004 by prior owner). I
would like the new screened in porch to do the same (connect both structures. It will be built in the exact same location as the prior porch (on the back of the house). There will
be a footer dug and foundation poured (prior screened in porch was built on a concrete slab and then they used loose pavers next to this to connect it to garage- I will get rid of these
and have a new concrete foundation poured per contractor recommendations (or per building code)).
Master bath remodel. I also had the architect draw up plans for a small master bath remodel. This home was on the market for a year before I bought it. The tiny master bath was a big
reason (I was told by the realtors who sold/listed the home when I bought it). All I’m proposing to do is to extend the master bath by ~ 2 feet, by pushing into one of the four bedrooms
upstairs. Plans are drawn for this and are attached in my email.
Please let me know if I can answer any questions since I realize this is a lot, which is why I called and discussed this with the permit Dept. before sending all of this together (as
I was instructed to do- send it all at once so it could be incorporated under same permit approval, and to cut back on unnecessary/duplicate fees).
Thank you in advance for your time and help with this process. I don’t have a lot of experience in this domain so I appreciate any assistance or recommendations you can provide.
Kind regards,
Amy Lawrence
