We moved here from the south side of Indianapolis 2 years ago for the ability to live in a safe, well maintained desirable location. The Jackson's Grant development has grown and flourished since our 2 years of living here. Those are lovely, expensive homes with well cared for, natural common land. It is a privilege to have such a nice subdivision across the street from us. It makes us appreciate our home all the more. The parcel of land just northwest of the current Jacksons Grant homes is slated as a gated community. Those will be lovely, expensive homes also. There is shopping right down the street on 116th, and also just a few blocks away, off Carmel Drive. I doubt they could put in any business that would enhance the area that doesn’t already exist within 5 miles of the 21 acres. Spring Mill Road already supports heavy traffic between 6:30am- 9:30 am, and 3:30 pm and 7:00 pm. People living in north Carmel and Westfield and Sheridan use Spring Mill Road to get to and from work. We don’t need more traffic, for sure. It should be a goal of the city of Carmel to maintain high quality, convenient living for all residents of the city of Carmel. I WOULD LIKE YOU TO VOTE AGAINST THE REZONING REQUEST TO INCREASE THE DENSITY AND ALSO ADD COMMERCIAL SPACE IN THE 21 ACRES ON THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SPRING MILL ROAD AND 116TH STREET. Please exercise caution and Do Not open attachments or click links from unknown senders or unexpected email. **** We own a home in Spring Lake Estates across the street from the Jackson Grant subdivision (12100). The developrs' promise to buyers was /is “Unbridled Elegance at Every Turn". Those are expensive single family homes with lovely well- maintained common land. There is already shopping just down the street on 116th and just over bridge to Carmel drive. The traffic on Spring Mill from 6:00 am to 9:30 am and 3:00-7:00 is very heavy and traffic moves very fast. More traffic and more residents will compromise the entire area. The current single family home zoning designation for the twenty-one acres on the northwest corner of Spring Mill Road should stay low-density, single family residential. 1
