Dear Carmel Planning Commission,
This is your moment to shine! I am a happy resident of Carmel and Stonehedge Estates at 47 Granite Court with
a husband and two preschoolers. We love our single family home neighborhood, our mature trees and the
proximity to the Monon. We love families with young kids and we love having neighbors who can still afford to
live in Carmel.
The proposed development is yet another example and threat to all things that make Carmel the Best Place to
Raise a Family. It's a threat to the families you are trying to support! These townhomes are far from affordable
for regular folks and they won't support families who just like to let kids play in their yards. They don't support
our teachers, service personnel, single parents or medium income residents who are driven out from other
established neighborhoods that are being developed. The 15 townhomes absolutely do not fit with any
surrounding neighborhoods and increase traffic at an iffy intersection. It's more than looks, it's a way of life that
the rezoning is threatening.
Please do not allow the rezoning at the southwest corner of 146th Street and Rolling Hill Drive, having the
common address 415 Rolling Hill Drive, Carmel, IN 46032, which includes Tax Parcel Numbers 16-09-24-02-
10-001.000, 16-09-24-02-10-002.000 and 16-09-24-02-10-003.000.
Instead, please make this property a shining star of your urban development plans. Green space, playground,
native plants, walkability, bike racks, keeping families safe on a dangerous sidewalk and doing our part to
combat climate change. These are words that we constantly hear or read about from City officials - please keep
them in mind when deciding on the fate of this property. Please do not allow the rezoning from residential to
town homes. Please keep the current people of Carmel in mind more than the people who might move here.
Thank you for the opportunity to voice my concerns.
