Re: zoning commission hearing/Jackson’s Grant
Dear Mr. Shestak,
When we moved to Carmel 3 years ago, one of the things that so impressed us was the city government and the concern
it expressed and the desire to do the best for its citizens. In light of this, I respectfully ask that you consider continuing
the hearing on Tuesday night, at least that portion that has to do with Jackson’s Grant neighborhood.
Most of the neighbors who would like to attend the hearing are in the high risk population for Corotid-19, and have
been told to stay home as much as possible. Most of these neighbors have expressed their opposition to the zoning
change and should be given the opportunity to express their opinions but should not have to do so at their own risk or at
the risk of those around them. I understand hand sanitizers would be available but that is not enough for those in the
high risk segment.
This rezoning decision is important to all and is a decision that should not be made at a time when those opposed should
not appear. Such a decision made could be suspect as being made at a time slanted against those opposed. A delay in
the hearing will bring no harm to either side as the land will be there for a long time and the Corona virus will eventually
dissipate.
Thank you for your consideration,
Fred and Carol Terzo
