responsible for damages b TriCo's sewer system. This indudes damages to manholes, castings, manhole lids and
the like; caused by construclion activity on the building site which is the subject of this pertnit.
Inspections by TriCo are MANDATORY and shall be arranged by contecting TnCo's office at 844-9200 24 hours in
advance. All new construction will be placetl on billing two months after connection has 6een made or when waler is
connected, whichever wmes frst.

SUMMARY OF LATERAL INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
i. Only one building may connect to the sewer main per lateral unless otherwise approved by TriCo.
2. Foundation drains, sump drains, tlownspouts antl other slortn water tlrains shall never be wnnectetl to ihe sanitary sewer.
Sile dewatenng systems shall never be discharged to the saniWry sewer.
3. The ezisting sewer line from the builtling ta Ihe septic tank may only be reused it it is located under a building atltlition, patia,
porch or paved tlnveway, and the line passes an air test that is observed by TnCo. Contact TriCo br more infortnation about
air testing requirements. The property ovmer is responsible for testing costs.
4. TnCo shall inspect all new laterals or lateral repairs in Iheir entirery. Final connection m the sanitary sewer must be abserved
by Tnco. The pmperty owner or conNactor must noti(y TnCo prior to bac�lling. Inspections must be schetlNed a[ least 24
hours in advance. If an inspection hils and subsequent inspections are required, or itthe mnhac[or is not on site for the
scheduled inspection, a$100 tee will be assessed and must be paitl pnor to schetluling the reinspection.
5. Septic system contents or eifluent shall never be dischar9ed lo the sanitary sewer. Be advised ihat your wunry health
department regulates septic systems. Upon connection to sanitary sewer, a septic tank must typically 6e abandoned,
pumped clean, anC filled completely with earthen matenal. Contact your county health tlepartment for mare informafion on
septic system and abantlonment requirements, and to natify the department of any abandonment.
6. The following ma�enals are acceptable for use in graviry sewer lateral insWllation or repair.
PVC pipe: SDR 35 or SDR 26, ASTM D3034, 6" tliameter
PVC pipe, pressure rated: SOR 21, ASTM 02241, 6" diameter
PVC restrainetl joint pipe Por directional dnlling: Certaflo Greenline SDR 21, ASTM D2241, 6" tliameter
All gasketed joints shall meet ASTM D3212
All filfings shall be S�R2fi or better
�ucfile iron mechaniwl joint fttings with praper hardware
S�R 26 gasketed repair sleeves or Indiana Seal shear guard

7. For gravity entl low-pressure systems, the line leaving the building shall not exceed 3' in lengih before a cieanout mus[ be
added and the line is Irdnsitioned to 8' diameter SDR 35 PVC pipe. Glued joints are nat allowetl afier 3'. No atltlilional glued
fitlings are allowed belween the builtling and the transi[ion/cleanout. For all grevity lines, cleanouts shall not be spaced more
ihan 100' apart behveen the builtling and the sewer main. See TnCo's stantlard drawings for more infortnation on cleanout
installation.
8. Bedding matenal shall be placetl from al leas[ 6 inches below to 12 inches above the pipe surtace. The t2nch shall be a
minimum ot 18' wide with at least 6" of clearance on both sidas of the pipe. Matenal shall 6e placed orerthe pipe antl tracer
wire after inspection. Soft, unstable or unsuitabie matenal found 6elow and near iha Iaterei, including any NI or foundation
bac�ll matenal, must be removed and repiaced with #e stone. The conVactor is solery responsible tor establishing stable
pipe bedding wnditions.
9. #10.AWG solitl copper tracer wire shell be laid on Wp of and run iha entire fengM af ihe laterel. AII splicing of iracer vnre
shall use 3M splice kit model OBR/Y-6, King Innova�ion Dryconn Direct Bury Lug Aqua catalog #90220, ar TriCo approvetl
10. Laterals shall be insfalled at least 20' from water wells unless PVC pressure grade pipe is used. Any proposetl instaliation
requinng pressure pipe shell be reviewed by TnCo pnor ro insWllation. Where a transition is made belween SDR 35 pipe antl
pressure grade SDR 21 pipe, a duRile iron gasketed mechanical couplings must be usetl.
11. Laterals less than S tleep shall be al least 24" from the property line. Laterals more lhan 5' deep shall be at least 38" from
the property line. Where Ihe lateral runs in clou pmzimity to the property line ihe property comers must be accuretely
staked by a professional land surveyor pnor to inspection.
12 Laleals iunnin8 Paallel to a building or structure shall be at least 36" from ihe !ace of a crewl space o� slab an grade
foundation antl 80" ham the faca of a basement fountlation wall. Spacing requirements also apply with respect ro the
ancillary sWcture's foundation depth. Mcillary structures (e.g. window wells) and other utilities shall not be placed over or
near Me laterei. TnCo may atljust requirements where future access to the lateral may be obstmc[ed by a[her utilities. The
contrac[or should wll W discuss furiher if hGshe believes this wuld be an issue.
73. All inhasW cture wnnectetl to TnCo's sewer system may be fesleC, inspecteq ar televised at TnCo's discretion, antl must
remain accessible and properly maintained.

schedule an inspec[ion. The inspeIXion will verify that
• Downspouts are not connected to the sani[ary sewer
• The sump pump is not connected to the sani[ary sewer

' No yard drains are connected to the sanitary sewer
• There are no sinkholes or other indications lhal lhe sewer lateral is leaking
• 5 Ton or greater HVAC units do no[ dishcarge condenstion to [he sanitary sewer.
• If defciencies are found, the property owner will be notifed and must make wrrections immediately. The propeity
owner will need to schedule a follow up inspection. If a certifca[e of compliance is not issued within 30 days of the
change in ownership, a sewar surcharge, of $20 per mon[h will be assessed and added to ihe sewer bill.
