The applicant seeks the following development standards variance approval: 9. Docket No. PZ-2020-00056 V UDO Section 5.39.C.4 Traffic Direction Sign Height & Area - Max. 3’ tall allowed, 4’ requested, and Max. 3 sq. ft. area allowed, 5 sq. ft. requested. The site is zoned MC/Meridian Corridor and is located at 10580 N. Meridian St. Filed by Doug Staley Jr. of Staley Signs, on behalf of CIHS Newco LLC. General Info: The Petitioner seeks Board of Zoning Appeals variance approval for a traffic directional sign. Please see the Petitioner’s info packet for more detail on the variance request. Analysis: The proposed traffic directional sign will be placed interior to the site, within the parking lot, right off the main driveway. It will aid visitors and patients with wayfinding to the Medical Office entrance, the Hospital building entrance, and the Heart Emergency entrance. The sign design will be complementary to the other existing signs. The sign will be 4-ft tall and 5 square feet in area. The sign ordinance only allows traffic directional signs to be a maximum of 3-ft tall and 3 square feet in area. This is a variance request of 1-ft of height and 2 square feet of sign area. The Petitioner addressed all planning/zoning review comments, and the Planning Dept. supports this variance request.
