I understand that there is a plan to put a filling station in on Towne Rd just South of 131st (main St).
I live in the Village of West Clay. I don’t live near the proposed site.
I have not been requested to give an opinion on this by VOWC Board.
I am opposed to this being added at this time.
If this was in the VOWC master plan as I have heard, it should have been on the front end. This is not fair to the owners
who have bought and built near this location for many reasons.
They probably would not have bought directly across the street if they would have known what was coming. They
probably over paid for the value of their property if this goes in and they will not recover.
This reminds when we first built a house in a new development in Zionsville with a wooded area behind us.
A few years later, our developer and owner of the woods and meadow behind us had it all bull dozed down and
developed.
Our high priced lot was diminished in value.
This location proposed sits immediately next to a Senior Living community.
It sits within blocks of a community swimming pool and a Child care day center and very close to a high density area of
homes.
The area does not need a convenience store. That need is filed by the CVS one block away from the site.
Thank you,
George Walker
