Existing Conditions: The project site has an area of approximately 5.40 acres. It currently serves as the existing Carey Grove Park and is bounded by residential development on all sides of the project site. The site has a highpoint in the southeast corner of the project site and generally drains north and east. Runoff draining to the north is collected by an existing offsite stormwater sewer manhole. Runoff draining east is collected into an existing onsite stormwater sewer and is conveyed to the northern border of the site into an offsite stormwater sewer structure. Undergound utilities such as electric, water, and sanitary sewer lines run along the western border of the project site. Storm Event Existing Release Rate (cfs) Off-Site Release Rate (cfs) 2-Year 4.30 1.50 10-Year 8.93 3.17 100-Year 20.77 7.45 Adjoining land conditions: North: Residential South: Residential East: Residential West: Residential Receiving Watershed: Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC14): 05120201090020 100-Year Floodplains, Floodways, and Flood Fringes: The proposed project site is not within a floodplain, per FIRM 18057C0226G dated November 19, 2014 and has been designated as an area of minimal flood hazard area. Soil types: Soils maps from the United States Departmen t of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service identify two soil types on the site; Miami Silt Loam-Urban Land Complex (YmsB2) and Crosby Silt Loam (YclA), both are a part of Hydrologic Soil Group C. Proposed Conditions: The rehabilitation of this site includes the construction of a new parking area, basketball court, playground area, infiltration trenches, and dry detention area. The project site will be graded with high points at the east and west sections of the site so that stormwater runoff drains to the center of the site where it will be collected into the proposed dry detention area. Once water is collected into the proposed dry detention area it will be conveyed through the outlet control structure and to the existing offsite stormwater sewer manhole to the north. The dry detention area was designed using an outlet control structure with a 0.3-foot orifice. Water Quality Volume: The Water Quality volume for this site will be met with the installation of two infiltration trenches on the east and west side of the project site. The west infiltration trench was designed using a drainage area of 1.276 acres. The percent impervious are and the runoff volume coefficient was calculated to be 50.55 percent and 0.50, respectively. With this information the required water quality volume was calculated to be 0.054 acre-feet. The west infiltration trench was designed to have a bottom surface area of 3,094 square-feet and a depth of 2 feet to give a water quality volume of 0.057 acre-feet. The east infiltration trench was designed using a drainage area of 3.998 acres. The percent impervious are and the runoff volume coefficient was calcu lated to be 15.43 percent and 0.19, respectively. With this information the required water quality volume was calculated to be 0.055 acre-feet. The west infiltration trench was designed to have a bottom surface area of 3,350 square-feet and a depth of 2.25 feet to give a water quality volume of 0.069 acre-feet.
