Please exercise caution and Do Not open attachments or click links from unknown senders or unexpected email. **** Mr. Shestak, I am writing to express my opposition to the gas station that is being proposed to be built at 131st and Towne Rd. My husband and I have lived in the Village of West Clay since 2013 and we have 2 young children. I understand that for many years a convenience store has been one of the development concepts that has been considered as appropriate for this site. However, I do not believe that the email communications/survey sent to Village residents sufficiently underscored that this meant a 6 bay Family Express gas station with a car wash. We already have the CVS which serves as a convenience store so I do not see how this is an added benefit to the neighborhood. My older son is the age where he wants to explore the neighborhood on his bike with his friends. I am going to be very concerned about him on our neighborhood streets because of the increased traffic. I think it is highly likely that people will be cutting though on the neighborhood streets to get to the gas station. I am also concerned because it is my understanding that there is not a Family Express gas station that exists in a neighborhood to serve as a model of how this will work. Our younger son attends Primrose at West Clay. Given the traffic, noise, air emissions, and other pollutants that are inherent in a gas station and car wash, I do not see how approving this use in such close proximity to a preschool and senior center make sense. These do not seem like compatible uses. Thank you for considering these concerns. I appreciate the opportunity to comment. Kind Regards, Sarah Ash Simpson 1
