Subject:Vatistas - Smokey Ridge Trace - Carmel
Dear Joe,
Good morning, I hope this note finds you well.
My wife and I purchased our home in Smokey Ridge in March 2006. We relocated from Southern
California for company/job and never imagined that 14 years later, our family would still reside in
Carmel, IN. We absolutely love it here and have bragged about Indiana and Carmel to our friends across
the US for the past 14 years. What an amazing place to raise a family!
Our home is located on the NW corner of Smokey Ridge Trail and Smokey Ridge Trace. We have seen
an increase in traffic in the last several years and the roundabout has not helped in the congestion of
traffic, even with the light that was added. The increase in traffic with the current proposal would only
make matters worse. I drive my kids to school in the morning and have witnessed many accidents. It is
unsafe as it is and adding the amount of homes proposed would cause complete chaos.
The style of the homes that are being proposed are also of high concern. Our homes our custom built, quality
homes and building the type of home that is being proposed would highly impact the value of our homes. Cookie-cutter
homes do not hold up to the standards of our community. Understandably, the land will eventually be developed but we
need to maintain Carmel's architectural and zoning standards.
Thank you for your time and hope that you take these factors into consideration when making your decision.
Sincerely,
Lukas and Elena Vatistas
