I am writing you today to officially offer my comments, and ultimately my protest, about certain aspects of this new proposed development. Because of the position of my home, we will be among the houses most affected by this new development. Like many people who live in my neighborhood, I have deep concerns about the planned development. Chief among them, are these:  I live just one house over from the new proposed access extension of Beaument boulevard. I think this access road is completely unnecessary and will add an unacceptable level of traffic to the area. We'll lose greenspace the community uses (and it's also a point of access for our walking trail.) This will also interrupt our drainage system. None of this is a good idea.  I object to the natural trees being raised. As the plans indicate, I will be looking at a lake-like pond and the back of houses, when now I'm looking out onto a line of trees and a farm. I understand change happens. But I think there are things being done with this development that are unnecessary. Please leave the trees. There are so precious few in Carmel as it is.  I concur with my neighbors that our two neighborhoods will not benefit from being connected. They will be coming in and making use of our trails, and our resources. They'll be driving down our internal neighborhood streets to get home. Their high density development will drag down our property values. I respectfullly submit that the developers should:  Lower the density of this development  Increase natural treeline barriers or even walls between their neighborhood and ours, instead of trying to link the two together with an ill-advised pond.  Create other entrances for their development off other main roads, instead of having to rely on access through our neighborhood. As a resident here in Saddle Creek, I prize the low traffic and relatively safe roads we have in our neighborhood. I did not sign up for the strain on our views or our resources that this new development will create. There is truly no need for it. I hope you use your position to get this development firm to mitigate its plans. I'm sure there is a compromise that can be struck here that will allow development at a range of price points, without stressing out an established neighboring development like Saddle Creek. 1 When we purchased our homes in Saddle Creek, we did so with the understanding that this city prizes intelligent development, and it was unlikely development would downgrade our home values. I hope this continues to be the case. Thank you for your time, and all you do for the city. -- Kind Regards, Susan Gosselin, Principal To help protect your privacy, Microsoft Office prevented automatic download of this picture from the Internet. 2082 Mustang Chase Drive, Carmel, IN 46074 Phone: 317-502-1377 Linkedn profile LinkedIn company page @sgosselin on Twitter website: www.gosselinpr.com 2
