Dear Joe,
I, Sunita Kumari and resident of 1661 Mustang Chase Drive, Carmel, IN (Saddle Creek community) since 2007, want to
draw your attention to my serious objections to Ambleside Point - the planned development by Hoffmann Farms seeking
to rezone from S-1 Residential to a higher density of 285 Lots on the 56.5 Acres Parcel. My main objection is to the
proposal of converting the common green space in Saddle Creek Community into a public road as an entry/exit to the
high-density development.
Objection #1: The Saddle Creek common green space under consideration has been used by community kids ever since.
There is no other common open space near by for children to socialize and play in a safe environment where parents can
also keep an eye on the little ones.
Objection #2: Annexing of the Saddle Creek east pond will not only eradicate remaining existing green cover but also take
away the existing privacy buffer between Saddle Creek and Ambleside Point PUD.
Objection #3: The increased traffic to/from the high-density PUD Saddle Creek would be a major safety hazard for
children and adults who enjoy the freedom and benefits alike, not to mention that this space would be consigned to public
construction as it becomes a key entry/exit to Ambleside PUD.
Objection #4: Increased traffic would also lead to unavoidable increased noise pollution and air pollution (hence poorer
quality of air we breathe in).
Objection #5: Along with the loss of existing mature woods and wild-life ecosystem bordering Saddle Creek and the
proposed Ambleside PUD site, a beautiful farmland of today will also be lost for ever.
Above mentioned features (which are at stake today) were key in choosing Saddle Creek Community to settle in for a
good quality of residential life, our sweet home. When we bought our current property(by far our largest financial
investment in life) in Saddle Creek, we were not aware that factors were critical to our decision making would no longer
exist because of the decision Carmel Planning Commission may take and we would be cheated/robbed off of our quality
of life; and top of that we would face the consequences in the form of reduced property value and reduced chances of
reselling our property.
Thank you very much for your kind attention. I am sure that you will pay close attention to my concerns and do justice to
my voice.
Best regards,
Sunita Kumari
