HomeMy WebLinkAboutPetition in Opposition from Saddle Creek - 07-15-20Petition to City of Carmel Plan Commission to oppose converting Saddle Creek Community large green space into a road at Beaument Blvd and Mustang Chase to allow for entry and exit into a new high -density and lower valued unit development including single family homes and townhomes, THE UNDERSIGNED, HEREBY PETITION the City of Carmel Plan Commission to reject the rezoning of Saddle Creek Community large green space into a road at Beaument Blvd and Mustang Chase to allow for entry and exit into a new lower valued and high - density unit development including single-family homes and townhomes. See attachment I for photos of Saddle Creek Community large green space. 1. The Saddle Creek common green space is being used by Saddle Creek Community children for over 15 years. They play football, soccer, and tag in the green space as its large enough to have multiple families play games. It's a safe place for the children to get outside and play their favorite sports. If this is converted to a road., children will not have a place to play locally and will stay inside more. 2. The volume of traffic from the high -density PUD (265 to 285 lots on the 56.5 acres) through Beaument Blvd street will be a safety hazard for the children and adults in the Saddle Creek Community. This will become a key entry and exit for people living in Ambleside PUD commuting south and will have excessive traffic. B. Removing the beautiful natural trees to allow for the road will eliminate the privacy Saddle Creek homeowners enjoy today. This will be a significate change in privacy for current homeowners. 4. When it rains the water from Saddle Creek Pond overflows on the surface and runs down to the next pond. If the green space is converted to a paved, road, this will make it harder for the water to get absorbed and will lead to flooding as the road will block the natural flow of the water. This will flood Saddle Creek community homes. 5. There will be a decrease in property value from the installation of the road to lower - valued and high -density unit development including single-family homes ani townhomes.
