Mr Shestak and the Carmel Zoning Board,
I am a resident in the Village of West Clay and very much against building a gas station on towne road, next to the
Stratford. We are a quiet, walkable community and feel that a gas station and car wash is NOT an enhancement to our
neighborhood. This type of facility is noisy, has late hours and typically attracts individuals that would make walking our
streets a bit risky. I have never seen a gas station that is clean and tidy and to have one in the middle of a neighborhood
area versus off of a divided highway like Michigan Road or Meridian is not appropriate. This may have been approved
by a few developers back in early 2000, but they don’t live here and the residents of today are not interested.
Please listen to the many voices upset about this and vote with the residents of this neighborhood to not approve this
gas station. I add that I have lived in Carmel for 32 years and have seen much changes and improvements. I have felt
that most of these changes are true enhancements to the area they are placed in. This, however, is the one time that I
disagree.
