Subject: Gas Pumps in The Village of West Clay
I live on Alcott Street in the Village of West Clay. I oppose the plan to build the gas stations, the
convenience store and car wash. Those structures will decrease my property value. They will bring an
increased risk of crime closer to my neighborhood. They will be an eyesore. I don’t want the chemicals
and the mess it’s going to bring. You can’t disguise it by putting an Art Deco design on the convenience
store. There isn’t anything they sell in the convenience store that I can’t buy at CVS next door or be
willing to drive to Target to purchase. I don’t want the additional traffic to our family-friendly
neighborhood. I don’t want the bright lights after dark. I don’t want the smell of gasoline.
Noise, traffic, increased crime, litter. Please, I’d rather drive 5 miles to buy my gas and therefore I’m
requesting that you reconsider building this monstrosity in my neighborhood.
