To whom it may concern:
I am a concerned resident living in the the Village of West Clay near the corner of Towne and 131st. It has been brought
to my attention that the City of Carmel has approved plans for a gas station across the street from me and my
neighbors. The environmental impact to all the people, including many children, which it seems the City has already
approved as acceptable, is alarming and seems to far outweigh the benefits. The amount of traffic would increase also
putting the children going to CVS in danger not to mention the many elderly in the area. It does nothing to enhance the
quality of life in Carmel but has the potential to negatively impact so many.
I am all for growth and progress but this just doesn't seem necessary. There are already plenty of gas stations nearby in
almost every direction. I frequently use a couple of them and have never had a problem with traffic at the pumps.
Please reconsider and ask yourself if this is the right decision for our residents. Imagine your own neighborhood or
children or family or elderly parents living next to a gas station. Would you be ok with that?
Sincerely, Pam Benz
