Please exercise caution and Do Not open attachments or click links from unknown senders or unexpected email. **** Dear Mr. Shestak, My husband and I live in the Hadley Grove neighborhood directly north of the commercial properties on the southwest corner of 131st and Towne Road, and we are very concerned about the requested variances that would allow for the placement of a 6-bay gas station/convenience store. I would like to convey my strong objections to these variances, in particular the variance that would allow less room for cars to "stack" at a drive-through lane. This can have many deleterious consequences including pedestrian/bicyclist safety and traffic congestion. Also, the variance requested so that the pumps and parking can be relocated to the front of the property is problematic. Carmel has long promoted itself as a walkable/bikeable community, and is one of the reasons we relocated here. Increased traffic from cars entering/exiting a gas station and idling while they wait to pump gas does not seem to align with this vision. I understand that how we came to be at this point--i.e. the apparent lack of communication and transparency between the developer and area residents that resulted in this unfortunate proposal--is not relevant now. However, the variances being requested so that this project can proceed most definitely are, and I would like to add my voice to the many others objecting to them. Thank you, Glenn Livers 13267 Regina Ct. Carmel, IN 46074 1
