Dear Mr. Shestak,
I’m writing in opposition of the variance requests for the proposed gas station at 131 and Towne Road.
I oppose the variance requests to moving the proposed gas pumps and parking from behind the building to the front,
along with reducing the amount of space required for cars to wait in line to enter the proposed gas station. At times,
Harleston St. can become crowded with traffic from the local business including the Taekwondo studio, which hosts many
large events, Puccini’s, which has a busy dine in and take out business and West Clay Spirits. There is little parking for
these businesses and at times, traffic already overflows into Harleston St.
st
Additionally, 131 and Towne is a heavily traveled intersection by CCS buses in the mornings and afternoons. Potential
traffic back ups and parking overflow are very concerning due to the heavy foot and bike traffic, especially by kids who
frequently travel within this area. There are very few times throughout the day that multiple bikes are not parked at CVS.
I’m concerned that additional traffic, along with less space to enter the gas station, could cause traffic issues and most
importantly, safety concerns for residents and community.
Respectfully,
Amy Nolan
