Sir,
I've been watching the recent debate regarding the zoning variance to allow a gas station. After some research, I am in
agreement that the risk outweighs any benefit to the residents of VOWC. This has been pushed through sub rosa without
feedback or communication with the residents. To say it is fraudulent and shady is perhaps an appropriate
characterization. I will spare you the bulletized list of negatives to VOWC, and the positives only benefit a handful of
investors.
I foresee negative and hard to mitigate consequences should this project go through. I am but one voice, but have yet to
meet a single person with even fractional support of the gas station. In our current era, it is hard to meet the people and
get feedback. I understand that meetings will have limited participation. If you would like to address this on a larger
basis, one might consider a meeting from the balcony at meeting house or the gazebo in the green where residents may
participate and yet exercise social distancing.
regards,
Doug Strobel
VOWC resident.
