HomeMy WebLinkAboutStaircase DetailPROPOSED CONSTRUCTION
1. Contractor to verify all dimensions on plan sheet are correct and layout will work. Ensure basement floor finish remains concrete, and upstairs finish floor is
same thickness as finish stair material for dimensions to be accurate. Notify engineer immediately if discrepancy is found because this design will no longer be
valid.
2. Contractor to verify floor joists are 2" x 10" lumber to ensure dimensions are accurate. Notify engineer immediately if discrepancy is found because this
design will no longer be valid.
3. Install 4 stringers constructed from 2" x 12" lumber. Exact length of stringers exceed 16' lumber by 916". Contractor has option of using 18' lumber for exact
dimension or placing a 1.25" vertical riser in lieu of 3 4" riser to fully support first tread.
4. Construct load bearing wall along length of staircase to support trimmed floor joists on double top plate. Place 2" x 4" stringer stiffener on side adjacent to
framed wall for spacing and to aid finishing.
5. Ensure 5" Minimum of stringer material is left at back of step to uncut edge after stair layout. Do not overcut tread or risers into lumber.
6. Relocate electrical and HVAC as needed.
